Glitter - buttons

This is the second of my cards I have made today for Christmas - when I discovered I didn't have enough!

The challenge on Forever Friends is to use Glitter - I used my glue pen to highlight sections of the paper and then glittered in lovely pinky/purple. The little forever friends sticker is mounted onto a scrap of Kraft to highlight and three tiny buttons added which means it also fits the challenge on Allsorts which is to use buttons.

Green, Red and white

I've had no time for blogging recently. Finished my chores/studying for today so thought I would get some Xmas cards written out. Discovered that I didn't have enough! So, the challenge of green, red and white on Colour Create provided me with some inspiration and I also wanted to use my newly acquired Kraft card.

I have seen on Monica's blog a Stampin up medalion card stamped in white on Kraft where half of the medalion is used on the edge, and thought I would see if I recreate that look - not sure I quite pulled it off - might just need to buy that stamp afterall LOL! I used two small Docrafts snowflake stamps.

I also used my new Stampin up eyelet punch along the edge of the card but I haven't managed to pick it up in the picture except at the very top.
Very excited as Victoria -see her special candy on my sidebar- it turns out lives very local to me and is having a stampin up party and I am invited - can't wait!

Christmas for the guys

This is my first time entering the Penny Black Saturday challenge. I used some papermania christmas paper to back the card then mounted a different pattern onto some gold mirri board added some parcels that were free with a mag and added the little Penny Black Hedgehog - I put PEACE as he looks so peaceful asleep. that was going to be it but I decided if I added some ribbon it would look like a giant parcel.

Snowflakes

I had another day off today as I attended a charity literary luncheon with champagne! lovely. The guest speaker was Alexander McCall Smith (you may know him best for the No1 Dectective Ladies Agency Books) he was an excellent speaker and very amusing.

I made this card and added lots of glitter as it is for a friend's sister and she LOVES glitter. Not sure I have captured just how "glittery" it is. I used Martha Stewart Glitter and I just went over the snowflakes with my quickie glue pen and then sprinkled it over. Love the glue pen, had to order another one today as I am about to start my spare one and would not like to be without one!

The papers I have used before, they are from a craft magazine and this is the end of them now. The white paper was an offcut from a 12x12 and I used my new stampin up punch to edge along and then with the glue pen went around the holes and covered with translucent glitter.

I am going to enter it for these challenges:-

Bizzy Becs Creatilicious challenge - snowflakes, glitter and sparkle

Charisma Cardz challenge - Merry and bright

Imagine this....snow

On 365 cards today - yeah I am actually doing a challenge on the day it is posted! - day 259 is "imagine this...snow". My Joy at snow of course is confined to when I don't have to go anywhere in it, then I am less than joyful about it all. Not sure you can see the ribbon but it says "let it snow" across it.
I am pleased with this card in the fact that I have recycled the "joy" tag from the front of the Liz Earle paper brochure it received - it was a shame not to as it is high quality embossing. By the way I use her cleanse and polish - it is excellent and smells lovely.

Perfect pair?

I am getting to quite a few challenges on 365 cards this week albeit in the wrong order and later than they should be! On day 256 they asked if rick rack and buttons were the perfect pair. I initially didn't enter this because I have no rick rack ribbon, but then I found this rick rack paper version so was able to enter. I've never made a Winter birthday card before as my own birthday is in December I remember only too well as a child when people who wrote in a Christmas card "Happy Birthday" too!!! (Well it hurts when you are a child!). But I think Anya looks good as a winter birthday card.

Bring out the bling!

This is the fab picture to inspire us on day 257 on 365 cards. You don't have to put a cupcake on your card (which as it turned out is good!). Now I LOVE cupcakes I really do but I could not get a card together for some reason. I was however drawn to the free magazine pink snowflake paper I had, which I could do with using as it doesn't seem to go with any other papers.

Next I found myself getting out the purple mirri board and matting and layering, looked for some hearts and found the pink snowflakes (when did I get those??) next thing I knew it fitted the Allsorts challenge to bring out your bling, (only just under the wire for that one) as well as 365 cards. Her coat and boots are a pale blue but taking a photo this late at night the result isn't too good (edited 14 Nov with new piccy). I also stamped the whole image in purple ink.

I have been using an xcut corner punch since I got it with some blog candy I won the other day. The thing is amazing - you can see I have used it on each of the layers and I think I prefer it to the straight corner.

It's Anya

On Anyone for Anya this week the challenge is to use this recipe

3 papers excluding the card base

2 buttons

1 bow

This is a BIG card - 7"x10" which you can't really see in the picture. I have used two K&Co sheets and then a triangle of vellum that reflects one of the patterns, from my scrap box. Used my new Stampinup punch along the edge of one of the papers. Coloured Anya with Promarkers.

New or neglected

I was going to do soooo much today! I managed three cards - why is it my Mojo goes when I have a whole day to play? but there is always this evening LOL! This card is for Creative Inspirations challenge where you can use a new or neglected stamp, well I have plenty of both!

I decided to use a new Tim Holtz stamp that I love - it took me ages to track it down and then I found it by accident, but this is the first time I have used it.

Put a lid on it....

When I saw the title "put a lid on it" on 365 cards today I didn't hold out much hope of doing the challenge, til I read they wanted a "hat" on a card. So - here it is.......

Stamp and sentiment stamp are CDees.
If you have a moment and are in the UK can you please click below to sign a petition to get the Prime Minister to intervene in the five Land Registry offices proposed to be closed and the loss of 1,500 jobs. thank you.

Blue, silver and white

The theme for a card over at Colour Create Challenge is Blue, silver and white. I've made this Christmas card and you can't see it on the first picture but there is a strip of sticky patterned ribbon down the inside of the card that shows through the torn edge. I'm also entering this for the Winter Wonderland challenge on By the Cute and Girly.
I have a day off tomorrow - so expect!

Christmas

Susie Sugar has a brand new challenge over at Sassy Designs by Susie (see also my sidebar) the them for the first challenge is Christmas. Here is a card I made using some free magazine papers and a stamped image that someone sent me - it might be Penny Black? which I coloured in with promarkers and a white sakura gelly pen.

This and that

I have been working hard on my dissertation research - spent all this afternoon coding secondary data-how exciting I hear you all cry LOL!

I really want to make some cards as my first SU order arrived with a lovely punch and the blog candy I won from Clare Curd arrived and it is fantastic. I also got a Martha Stewart starter glitter kit - I have only had time to play on scraps but the glitter is out of this world - apparently it is blended so you get the illusion of it being more sparkly. The gold glitter is not from Martha I was experimenting to see if the kit would work with my own glitter stash.

Last Saturday my Australian penpal Marjorie was here visiting, she is also a crafter but her other half switched off when we talked craft. I took them to the industrial museum so he was happy there!

I am posting a picture of a card I made for my partner's Mother - I don't think this type of card is really accepted in a challenge because all I did was chose the elements to assemble, I did however mount it on some lovely 12x12 Anna Griffin cardstock (one whole sheet used in one swoop!).
