Sweet basket snippet - chal 18

I've used my silhouette to cut this basket and flowers from snippets - you are sure to recognise them as snippets because so many cards have featured these PTI papers recently LOL! I got the free template from Shirley's Cards - a great find through Faith of Daffodil cards who used this freebie too.
The card is for Pixies Crafty Snippets challenge 18. Well off to see who else is in the playground, there was some sweet tobacco last week - ooh I used to love that when I was a kid.

LIM week 65- sketch

The challenge on Less is More this week is a sketch. I've cut out using a nestie an edged circle from some text I printed out from a digi, added a butterfly embellishment and a PTI sentiment. I then decided to have another go, so I printed a hero arts digi of a typewriter and cut it out using my silhouette ( I know on the photo it looks like it is printed direct to the card, but it is mounted on foam pads). I then typed the text using the silhouette software and cut it out, I was originally going to use the positive, but it was so fiddly and I kept loosing bits! So I took the easy option and used the negative.

Lost the thread?...........

Oh I am a bit like a bus, no posts for ages and then two in quick succession LOL!
I wrote the sentiment for this card using one of the glitter pens for my Silhouette. I also cut the Bugaboo image out with the Silhouette. These have both been on my desk as a WIP for some weeks, it is lucky they survived under everything that got piled on top - but they surfaced and I coloured the image with promarkers and flexi markers then added a punched border and flowers from cut from PTI papers and a couple of die cut leaves and some pearls.
I'd like to enter the card into these challenges Cupcake Craft Challenge - material girl and Passion for Promarkers - cut it out.

Keep calm........

Sorry for the lack of posts this week, I have been out every night! Also, I now do a zumba class followed swiftly by my Rock choir session so feeling slightly fatigued! Why does everything you want to do always end up being on the same evening?
I've taken a template from Hayley West's blog for the "keep calm" and cut it out in vinyl with my silhouette. the stamped image is from Ladbybug crafts and the sentiment is my own handwriting user a silver gel pen.
I'd like to enter the card into these challenges:-

Cute card Thursday - animal magic

Lots of layers and it started with a postcard

First of all my card with lots of layers - well it is by my standards LOL! I do feel a bit aggrieved that I cut all those lovely strips of text paper carefully arranged them and then more or less covered them up! The silhouette is a freebie and reminded me a certain stamp that is around at the moment,  I went a bit mad and cut into a Websters pages paper pad.
I'd like to enter this card into Delicious Doodles Challenge - loads of layers.

Well it started with a postcard from Julia Dunnit of the WOYWW fame - this one in fact
bearing in mind this was before the current Jubilee fashion. I kept it propped up on my desk, in fact Julia saw it there one week on WOYWW and commented she had some like it !!!! I then decided to frame it and when I first saw some "flag" themed china appear I bought some, first at Tesco with the mug on the tree but then they changed the design and I got the tins, tray, mug and not shown glass board (too dirty!) and it grew into this...
I also made this card a couple of years ago and decided to frame it for the kitchen
I just hope next year when all the bunting comes down I am not left feeling I should have curbed my enthusiasm!

Hello - snippets part 2

Ages ago I punched lots of butterflies out of scraps of paper intending to "do something with them" ahem- so I got a couple of those and then if you refer to this post  you will see I cut hello out of some teal card and used the negative, so of course I didn't throw away the positive and here it is on this card. Also this piece of card already had the oval cut from it from a previous card so after using the other half on the last card -still with me? I realised the letters fitted inside the ready made aperture.
This is of course for Pixie's Crafty Workshop snippet challenge #17 see you in the playground later if you come to play I have rhubarb and custard sweets this week.

LIM week 64 - How charming

This is my second post of the day, please scroll down and for an explanation as to why my blog disappeared.

I love charms, I collect them, but then never use them, because I forget I have them! This particular charm was bought many years ago and was going to feature on a piece of x-s I was going to do, but never did.......
I was just going to do the masked rectangle for this card with the boat, using my ink dusters, but then I had an idea to take the scene out of the box and across the card and use string, and, and, and.....  Hopefully is still LIM enough for the Less is more challenge.
I'd also like to enter the card into cute Card Thursday challenge - metallica, and Craft Your Days Away challenge who both want to see some metal on your card.

Leaving us

I had a bit of a shock this morning when I tried to open my blog and it said it didn't exist! I had to get myself verified to get it back because "there had been unusual activity on the blog" - what is that all about - anyone know?
Anyway, this card is for a lady who is leaving our office next Friday. I started with the colours on the Cupcake inspiration challenge and went from there, a sort of spring feel to it I hope. I've used PTI papers and cut out the word leaving with my silhouette, then used the positive on the inside of the card. Layered up the papers in stripes and added a few pearls and a piece of ribbon, Some of the layers are cut with a border punch.
I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:-
Aud Sentiments - any sentiment with spring/summer colours
Crafty Catz- stripes or checks you choose

Ring a Roses

On CD Sunday challenge this week the theme is roses. The cdrom I have used is not the mostly likely one - I used MCS Jewel Britannia. I printed a backing paper, a strip with the bow on and the sentiment. I then stuck a couple of real pearl stones on the sentiment, but the ones in the top right corner are printed ones. I've mounted the top of the ribbon on 3d foam but it hasn't shown up too well in the photo. Finally added a little diamond sparkle to the roses on the sentiment.

Yellow + ?

The challenge on Crafty Creations this week is to use yellow plus a colour of your choice. I have cut into a DCWV pad to make this card, I decided I had looked at it for long enough LOL! I also used one of my newest dies to first cut the splendid circles and then the border from a contrasting paper. The butterfly is a 3d sticker and the sentiment was free with a magazine.
Did you have the downpour today - weather for ducks LOL!

Raining hearts

I've used a heart digi from Cardmadfairy and resized it to make heart shaped rain drops! The digi image is Millie in the Rain from Pink Gem and I coloured her and the hearts with promarkers. I typed the sentiment on the PC and I punched a small heart from the background paper and added some ribbon cut from a tea towel!
I'd like to enter this card into Cardmadfairy challenge - April showers and Crafty Sentiments Designs challenge - use a digi.
I picked up my new to me car today. It has lots of things I have never had on a car before, including heated seats and steering wheel. Well I was driving along with the air con on and thought this seat seems very hot against my back, checked the dash - you know what it is like new car to you and keeping one eye on the road, it appeared to be off, finally I realised I was looking at the passenger seat one, and I had indeed got the heated seat turned on! Be nice in winter though.

Patchwork quilt snippets

I've used snippets from my box to cut 12 squares which I stuck together and then cut with a nestie, I then put lines of faux stitching along the joins and used an ink duster around the edges before mounting it onto SU cardstock and running the whole thing through a paisley embossing folder. I then made a diecut shape for the sentiment. I got this whole idea from someone else but cannot now find the card! - sorry if you have seen this then I will credit where I got the idea from.
I'd like to go in the playground at Pixie's Crafty workshop snippet challenge #16 with this card and also enter it into the Happy Birthday challenge at Sir Stampalot this month.

LIM week 63 - one layer- doodling

The challenge on Less is More this week is one layer with doodling. If you are not familiar with the digi I used you might wonder where my doodling is, so I have shown below the original stamp from Crafts and Me she is called Devonne. As you will be able to see I have filled her hair with doodling, nowhere near the fantastic work that Susan does. I did do this card before here but slightly differently, and not really CAS enough for LIM, also it needed to be one layer. So I used Microsoft publisher to import the digi resize it and put a shadow frame around it, then added the text.

Sew vintage

I created this card for two lovely ladies who hopefully have received it by now. I am sure lots of you will know them I will just say they are sisters!
I've used the Debbie Moore cdrom Haberdashery (again!) I put glossy accents over the buttons and used a little cosmic shimmer glue to make the brads.
I'd like to enter this card into the challenge on Moving along with the Times - shabby chic/and or vintage.

April showers

Well I have been in a few April showers today! I didn't have a lovely colourful umbrella like this one and I don't think I looked quite so pleased about it LOL! I've taken the cloud paper from a free pack with a mag last month, the sentiment is a freebie from PTI last year and the image is from Nutcrafters. I've made a little scene with some Hobby Art stamps. The toadstools are from Lavina and I made the grass by using the tip of a Clarity stamp tree.
I'd like to enter this card into

Toybox

I won the challenge over at CD Sunday challenge last week - thanks ladies. This is my entry for this week which the theme is "Toybox".  I've used MCS Young at Heart cdrom for all the elements, except those little red buses which are from the Crafts Beautiful free papers, although jubilee inspired, can be used for so many other things! This ended up being a 6x8 card as I wanted the toyshelf to sit above the main image. I manipulated the main image and put the doll sitting on the rocking horse.
I've had another cdrom with the wrong content on it, from the same company, so not too impressed, but have checked all of the ones I have now. Lesson is to check when you first get it! They haven't replied back to me yet and although it was just replaced last time a "sorry" would have been nice too.
Right well, I need to get on and I thought I would have sooo much craft time this week, but that doesn't seem to be the case at the moment.

Colours of your country's flag

I just love all the union jack stuff that is around at the moment. I bought Crafts Beautiful this month and there are some really good quality union jack/jubilee themed papers - which I used some of here and a lovely stamp. The stamp can't feature as this card is for the UnstampaBelles Challenge which means no stamps! The challenge is the colours of your country's flag and as I am in the UK, this is red, white and blue.

I used a new union jack embossing folder and then sanded the paper to reveal some of the core. Then I placed over the top the outline of a Kanban topper (ie what would normally be the waste!), added a sticker to the centre and the rest of the items are cut from the free papers. Some airmail bakers twine completes the card.
I used my ink dusters to put TH ink in sapphire and berry over the white card before mounting the whole thing onto it.

Well I have spent most of today haggling! I've been to trade in my car and am pleased to say at the third garage I got the deal I was looking for, considerably better than the first one I was offered! Tiring though!

Flashback Friday 22.0

The challenge on Flashback Friday 22.0 is to show your first die cut. I remember I got my cuttlebug in October 2009 and this is the first card I made with it for a friend who was 75 at the time. I started with just the simple dies of circles plain and scalloped. Although this is still my fav stamp image I am not too sure about the rest of the card, although I rarely like a card when I revisit it.

LIM week 62 - Three Shades of Green

The challenge on Less is More this week is Three Shades of Green. I'd been mulling over in my head using the SU medallion stamp but was going to stamp it half off the card with a framed sentiment. But whilst have a little test run decided that the second generation ink on one side of the stamp with fresh ink on the other looked rather nice and then this Clarity stamp sentiment was on my desk just waiting to be used - this is the result!
What a wash out today is - typical BH. We did get to the pictures yesterday to see Mirror Mirror the new take on Snow White (along with the other movie and TV show!) it is really fantastic and I loved all the costumes.

I'd also like to enter this card into Crafty Catz challenge for CAS cards.

Shoe snippet

I've been using a notecard over the past couple of cards I made, I've cut out various elements, it alls tarted with wanted to use the cameo on the perfume bottle, but then I saw potential in the cream colour of the back of the card which I embossed. Well, I still had some pieces left over and so in true snippet style here they are on a card. I've shown the notecard below so that you can look at the past cards and see how I used it.
I've entered the card into Di's Pixie's Crafty snippets challenge - number 15
No more left of it now, the tiny bits I decided really did need to go in the bin!
I'd also like to enter the card into the challenge on Fab 'n' funky who want to see embossing.

Vintage

I've used papers  from the same cdrom as yesterday, the image with the lady and the Eiffel tower I think is from another DMoore cdrom but I printed it ages ago and felt it went with this layout. I've used another Sue Wilson technique by only embossing a triangle at one corner of the card, this is the back of the notecard I used yesterday for the image, so pleased I have got lots out of it. I used a TH photo ink over it and it looks like old wallpaper IRL.
I'd like to enter this card into the vintage challenge on the ooh la la challenge blog.

All Sewn Up

This is my entry for the challenge over on The CD Sunday challenge which is All Sewn Up. I've used the Debbie Moore cd rom Shabby Chic Haberdashery for most of the card. As soon as I saw the words "haberdashery" it was sold to me! I do love as most of you know sewing and fashion themes. The perfume bottle and buckle I cut with a spellbinder from a notecard. The main spellbinder shape is actually two entwined together. I added a dress form and greeting tag from Kanban.
I just got back from my first Zumba class. A lady at work qualified recently as an instructor and is holding a weekly class. I ended up with a right sweat but made it through ok - just what I feel like tomorrow I don't know, thank goodness it's a Bank Holiday.

Hello - snippets

I am late into the playground with this one, I don't suppose there will be any room left on the swings, although Mrs A did save me a cupcake last week which was very nice of her. If you wonder what I am going on about then pop over to Di's blog Pixie's Crafty workshop where each week we aim to make a card using our snippets. I have had this piece of teal SU card for sometime, it had an oval cut from one end, so I put it through my silhouette and cut out the word "hello". then using another black snippet I cut out the ladies from a free file I got from silhouette. It looks like they are both cut out from the teal in the picture, but the ladies are on 3d foam. I tried to take another photo but it made no difference! So, as well as using the two snippets I managed to do two new techniques on the silhouette.
I'd like to enter the card into the challenge on Divas by Design - anything goes.

Eggs for Easter

Here is the second design of Easter card I made with the same shapes as yesterday's card. The stamp in the middle is a Paula Pascale, very versatile as you can alter the greeting across the middle.
Well the rain is coming down here and it is so cold. My colleague went home ill today, others at work are suffering and the OH has come down with a nasty bug - I am trying to ward it all off as I don't want to be ill for Easter!
I'd like to enter this card into the Papertake Weekly Challenge - anything goes.

Easter greeting

I'm so late with making my Easter cards this year, luckily I only send a few! I'll share the other design with you tomorrow. I cut the greeting and the eggs using my silhouette and then inked the edges of the card with an ink duster. I added some diamond sparkles to the one egg with a design cut out and along the bottom. The little postcard is from a sheet I had long ago and only a couple left now.

Oh so cute - Penny Black & More @ Allsorts DT card

Good morning everyone and welcome to the Penny Black & More @ Allsorts monthly challenge, which this month is "Oh So Cute".
I've taken a 6x6 piece of Kate Knight DP and simply put it straight onto the card, first using a edge punch down one side and in the corner. I then stamped these PB images from the "wonderful"acrylic set directly onto the paper and coloured with fleximarkers. I added some glitter but it hasn't shown up too well in the photo, together with a ruffled ribbon. I thought hedgie looked like he was smelling all those lovely flowers on the paper!
I do hope you can join in at the challenge this month, it would be lovely to see you there. We also have some new teamies this month so please visit to see their inspirational work and give them a hello.
