Old McDonald had a farm........

The challenge over on CD Sunday this week is "Old McDonald had a farm". I panicked at first because I felt sure I had nothing that fitted. But looking at the lovely CD rom I won from their challenge a few weeks ago I found these cuties and all the backing papers to match. They are from Simply Strolling Along by debbeescds, aren't they just so cute. I added some gingham ribbon that I thought looked "homespun" and it fits the challenge at Crafts and Me - add a ribbon.
Thanks for looking.

Royalty

I'm really loving working with red, blue and white at the moment. I've used a Pinkette digi from Tickled Pink Stamps (who have 40% off digis at the moment) and added a crown one of the new digis from Cardmadfairy (buy one get one free until 5 June) using MCS. I've coloured her with promarkers and used a combination of free papers that are around at the moment with magazines adding a Papermania ribbon as a border. The sentiment is from TLC.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:-
Cupcake Craft Challenge - royalty
Kaboodle Doodles challenge - anything goes
Creative Craft Challenges 2 - red white and blue
Craft your Days Away Challenge- red white and blue
Crafty Sentiments challenge - anything goes

Snippet butterflies in abundance

I got the inspiration for this card from this one I saw on Pinterest
Unlike the original I used an embossing folder for the diagonal effect, I then mounted onto another piece of card which I embossed with swiss dots. I punched all the butterflies from some PTI snippets of paper and managed to squeeze the two corners from the snippets also. I'll be going over to the playground with this one for Pixies Crafty snippets challenge #22. I wish I could take one of these with me - if only they still made them! Anyone remember them?

Isn't it funny how I remembered the card as being a colour on white when it is the other way around when I came to refer back to the inspiration card.
I'd like to enter this card into Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT challenge - something with wings and Crafty Calender Challenge -things with wings.

Medals and monarchs

Continuing with the jubilee theme of yesterday here is my card for the challenge this month at Sir Stampalot challenge - medals and monarchs. I used a PB stamp and put glossy accents on the windows (sorry it is reflecting a bit on the photo!) I paper pieced the roof using part of the cover of a Papermania Paper pad - nothing goes to waste! I then cut out using my craft robo from vinyl a London skyline - courtesy of UK scrappers - thank you and a union jack template, I then added a free sentiment and a couple of union jack buttons.
I'd also like to enter this card into Crafters Companion challenge - here comes summer and Moving along With the times challenge - Celebrate.

LIM week 69 - not a square

The challenge on Less is More this week is "not a square" but not a rectangle either! Unfortunately the heat meant it took my brain a little longer to come up with something than usual. In the end I decided to use one of the Fleur de lis dies and make a small card by putting the die almost all the way through, then turning around and cutting from the other side to ensure it still had a join in the middle. Then I used one of the smaller dies for the SU sentiment and label to be stamped on in the centre. I then threaded some ribbon through the top of the card and added a little tiny bit of bling. I also added some London Fog ink with a duster just to highlight the edges of the dies.
I'd also like to entr this card into the bingo grid at Creatalicious challenges this month - not a square, mono and ribbon.
I mentioned in my earlier post that I was going to a Jubilee themed ironing party, we had a right laugh. Here are just a few photos of what went on. Me in my Jubilee attire
Marie who dressed up a bit more!
and Di who held the party courtesy of "Come Round".

Books are........

I know my posts are a bit like buses at the moment LOL!

I got this lovely digi image free the other day from the Digistamp Boutique it also comes with a little boy reading on top of the books. To get the image you need to join their group on Facebook.  The sentiment is from TLC. I thought the two went together really well and pefect for the challenge on Cupcake Craft Challenge - book lover. I'd also like to enter the card into Digi Doodle shop Best - Let's go spotty.
Right I am off to a Jubilee themed Ironing Party! Let you know what that is about later........

Easy Elegance

This is my second post today - please scroll down for my Cardmadfairy DT card and their digis are buy one get one free until 5 June.

I saw this card on Ann's blog and I wanted to do something similar. I actually used my craft robo to cut out my hexagons and the dress forms and hangers which were a freebie file from Shery K Designs. I used some free papers from Homemade magazine. The ladies are cut by hand from Robert Addams Art Deco Delights cdrom, I printed these whilst trying to get to grips with the craft robo when I first got it and didn't want to waste them.

I made this card for the challenge on CD Sunday - Easy Elegance.

Photo inspiration at Cardmadfairy Digi Days challenge

The challenge over on Cardmadfairy Digi Days Challenge this week is to use this photo below for inspiration to make your project.

For my DT card I've used three of the new Cardmadfairy digi images. The crown, union jack bunting and the cup and saucer from a larger digi. I took the crowns into MCS and altered the colour to alternate red and blue, the cup I cut away from the teapot using MCS also. I coloured the bunting with fleximarkers and added a papermania button.
I'd love to see you enter over at Cardmadfairy Digi days challenge - you have two weeks to get your entry in.
I'd like to enter this card into Papertake Weekly challenge - true colours and Charisma Card challenge - no flowers.

Buy one get one free at Cardmadfairy's Creations

To celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee we are offering a buy one get one free deal from now until June 5th, just buy any image you want and in the Paypal comments box tell us which image you would like free of charge. It's a great deal - if you buy 1 image you get another one free, if you buy 5 images you will get another 5 completely free - what are you waiting for??

I had such a lot of fun with these new images from Jenni that I also made these cards too.....
I cut the map out using my craft robo, the template is from UK scrappers.
I cut around the digi of the crown using the craft robo, sentiment is generated by me on the PC

I used some free papers and again cut around the digi of the crown using the craft robo. The sentiment is from TLC and printed and cut out using half a nestie.
This one uses some of the other digis Jenni has in the Cardmadfairy shop.

Oriental fairy snippets

I was having a rummage in my snippet box for some papers for the challenges and saw these two offcuts of oriental paper and I thought they would go perfectly with the oriental fairy from Cardmadfairy, who I had already printed out and she never got used. So I coloured her in with fleximarkers, giving her wings a coating of diamond sparkles, together with a "fortune cookie" saying that I have loads of from a scrapbook kit, then I sneaked a peel off of a fan in the top corner.
I'd like to enter this card into:-
Pixie's Crafty Snippets challenge 21
Passion for Promarkers - photo inspiration - colours
I love Promarkers- anything goes.

LIM Week 68 - Baby or Child

I was so thrilled to be picked as the LIM April winner. Chrissie and Mandi and the Limettes have really helped me to improve my card making, thanks for all the inspiration.
So, the challenge on Less is More this week is a theme and it is Baby or Child. I have had two sets of Jayne Nestorenko stamp sets sitting un-inked for far too long. This seemed like the perfect challenge to use at least part of one of the sets. I stamped the girl and then masked her to stamp the balloon behind her. Then stamped the teddy hanging from her hand. I coloured with watercolour pencils and a fleximarker for the skintones because I didn't have a pencil that was suitable. I used a SU punch for the heart and then stamped the balloon image behind the top card so that part of the image was visible. I added a tiny amount of diamond sparkles to the cut out heart and on the "movement" marks of the balloon.
I'm sorry I didn't get around to visiting many people last week but we went away to the Cotswolds for a few days. Thanks for all the lovely comments on my LIM win.
I'd also like to enter the card into these challenges:-
Simon Says - CAS
Crafty Catz-Girlie time
Oldie But a Goodie-things with wings
Crafty Cardmakers -with a balloon

Tickled Pink

I had the Debbie Moore CD Pretty in Pink for a while now and thought I should investigate what is on there. This is the result, the card actually has the same background front and back, you print it and then cut around it. I did this all wrong, because I printed it, cut it out, decided the paper was too thin and then stuck it to card and cut around it all over again - lesson learnt!
The back of the card.

The image is a digi from Tickled Pink, I just love their stamps and so the challenge over on Divas by design - Tickled Pink, prompted me to print and colour her in. The sentiment is from TLC and to add a touch of sparkle required by Cute Card Thursday challenge, I mounted it onto a punched piece of pink glitter paper. As the card is not square it also fits with the theme on Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT challenge - not square. Lastly because I had never made a card like this before it fits in with the challenge on Delicious Doodles challenge - Try something new.

Flashback Friday 23 - butterflies

Over on Flashback Friday this month the challenge is to show your first card with butterflies or butterfly. I thought I had used a butterfly earlier than this which is 2010 and I began blogging in May 2009, but it seems this was the first. I had just acquired the punch you see used in the centre of the card.
Just got back from a few days away in the Cotswolds. We had lovely weather even caught the sun. When the rain came down on Monday we had just got in the car to go back to the hotel so missed getting wet.
I came home to the fabulous news that I had been picked as the April winner on the Less is More challenge blog - you can see my badge proudly displayed in the top right corner. I will  be mentioning this again, sorry, but I am so excited!

Clarity card

Just sharing a card I made when I followed along on one of the Barbara Gray from Clarity Stamps workshops on C&C a few months ago. I actually made it as she did, so could be better when I try again. I'm pleased with it for a first attempt.

Butterfly wings

I seem to have a bit of a text thing going on at the moment! The stamp I have used here I also used on these cards had it so long and now it has appeared twice! I stamped the text on a scrap of white card in lilac and then used a nestie label to cut out, brushing the edges with my ink duster. I punched two butterflies from scraps using a MS punch, added a PTI sentiment. I dipped the larger butterfly into clear embossing powder so it has a glossy look but you can't see it in the photo! Result CAS!
This is my second card for Pixies's Crafty Snippet challenge #19 as the playground is open for two weeks this time. There has been some crying behind the bike sheds, led by me and my weaving annoyance on Monday and then Di herself at not being able to get her Moroccan dies from the paper and finally Mrs A who wanted to spend her pennies in the Craft Tuck Shop, but they didn't have any of the things she needed (wanted?).
I'd also like to enter this card into these challenges:-
CES Challenge - anything goes - and the last challenge how sad.
Polka Doodles - mono shades
Oldie But a Goodie - die cuts and punches
Crafts and Me - Punches and die cuts
Anything goes - things with wings

LIM week 67 - one layer & three stamps

I thought I would get my card done nice and early this week for the Less Is More challenge. However, seems I will be around number 9 so not that early! This week the challenge is one layer and use three stamps.
I've used three freebie digital stamps, the sentiment is from TLC, the silhouette is a from Shery K Designs and the text background was from Hero Arts.

I'd also like to enter the card into St Luke's Charity Cards Challenge - one layer month.
Got to rush as off to the hairdressers.

Edited to say - rushed off and forgot to link it at LIM - doh!

Go fly a kite

This is my second post today. Please scroll down to see my DT card for Cardmadfairy Digi Days challenge.

I won this image some time ago along with some others and decided it was time I coloured him in, as I had a bit of an inspiration what to team it with, the free papers I got the other month. I also had a snippet of clouds left so I used that. I then made a kite from some SU offcuts that had been scored to make a box but I went wrong, but I thought it looked ok for this kite.
I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:-
Divas by design - one for the boys
Crafty Catz - Happy Birthday

Clean and Simple at Cardmadfairy digi days challenge and my DT Card

Morning everyone. I am so pleased to be able to say that I am now part of the DT for Cardmadfairy Digi Days Challenge blog. I love Jenni's images and they are such fun to work with.
The challenge this month is "Clean and Simple" and I have used "Geisha" from Cardmadfairy. I printed her in lilac and black and resized her so that it looks like a line of geishas. I've used a folded card and papers from a Kanban kit, I made the little wax seal ages ago and keep a supply for when the fancy takes me!
I do hope you will be able to join in with this fortnight's challenge. You must use a digi image but it doesn't have to be one from Cardmadfairy, but if you use one, you can enter as many times as you like, otherwise only one entry please.

Baking mad

I've had a bit of a day of it today. I realised this morning that my boiler wasn't switching off, thankfully BG came out this afternoon and fitted a new timer unit and all is well again! I had to go out this morning and was worried they would arrive before I got back, as it was they did ring early, but I was home.
I had a request for a card for a lady who is 65, likes baking and the colours, yellow, green and beige. I've been pondering over it for a few days and then today my copy of Cardmaking & Papercraft came with free papers and this is what I did with a couple of them. I asked if she wanted 65 on the card and she said yes, but I thought it would look better if it was in words, so I cut it out from white card using my silhouette and then used ink dusters over it.
I'd like to enter it into these challenges:-
Simon Says - sweet tooth
Cute Card Thursday - food or drink
Digidoodle shop - bingo grid -a bit of sparkle (on the cakes), something new (papers) pearls(on the cakes)

Woven snippets

You can tell it is BH Monday - no way would I normally have the time or patience to do paper weaving with my snippets for Pixies Crafty Snippets challenge 19. In fact when I first started I nearly ran behind the bike sheds for a bit of a sob, but then I got in the rhythm of it and was fine! The card above uses snippets from my box with a Bugaboo image coloured with promarkers added. I'd like to enter it into the Light and Bright challenge at Passion for Promarkers  and Anything goes at Catch the Bug challenge blog.
The one below was the same technique but I cut a frame from a Kate Knight full sheet of paper to frame the weaving and then used a Sweet Pea stamp to finish it off. I'd like to enter this into One Stitch At A Time Challenge- brights

LIM week 66 - yellow

My second post of today, please scroll down for my Penny Black & More @ Allsorts DT post.

YELLOW - not one of my fav colours, so took some thought when I saw that was the challenge on Less Is More this week. The very vintage wheel from SU is always on my desk, so I thought I would start with that, then I stamped and cut out a SU Butterfly from the Hope set. I've also used holographic powder on the butterfly and some of the background by using a versamark pen. Sentiment from PTI.
I'd also like to enter this card into the Anything Goes challenge - things with wings.

At least the weather has held out today and I managed to get in the garden and do some work, quite a lot needed doing as so many weeks it has rained and I couldn't get out. Filling the garden waste wheelie bin reminded me I bought this to sit on my desk
It's a little miniature wheelie bin for the tiny bits of waste when I am crafting.

London celebrations

I'm just loving all the Jubilee stuff you can buy at the moment, I've always loved crowns, patterned union jacks and the iconic Red London Bus, so I am in my element. So when I saw the new PB London stamps I had to have them. This is the first card I have created with them for my DT card over at Penny Black & More @ Allsorts this month where the challenge is London celebrations - so the Jubilee or Olympics.

I used ink dusters to create my background and then water colour pencils to colour the images to give a soft feel to the card. I added glossy accents to the windows as you can see more clearly below.
The challenge at Penny Black & More @ Allsorts runs until 31st May and I do hope you can join us. Remember you don't have to use a PB stamp, but strictly no digis on our challenges please.

I'd like to enter this card into the challenge at Cupcake Craft Challenges - Best of British.

8x8 chocolate

If only it were 8x8 chocolate - it's just a card! My first 8x8 card and courtesy of Faith whose blog candy I was lucky enough to win and these fab cards were part of it. The challenge on CD Sunday this week is "chocolate cream and one other". I've used elements from Joanna Sheen's Fashion Boutique, apart from the sentiment and chocolates which were from a Kanban design sheet.
Uhm, off to find some real chocolate now.........

Call your Mother

I just bought this digi from the "Call your Mother" release over at Day for Daisies.I love these retro images and all the telephones and typewriters that are around at the moment. I cut her out using my silhouette and coloured her with promarkers. By chance the luggage tags fell out when I was looking for the die cuts and I thought, that might work! I have had those tags about 15 years, bought a hug stack of them and have about 10 or so left still. The Day for Daisies challenge is "Crazy for Calico" or you can use another small patter, so I punched from My Minds Eye "Quite Contrary" papers all the flowers/butterflies, then added a few gems and some cosmic shimmer dots. the sentiment is from PTI - I know those girls on the switch were sometimes portrayed as "chatting" and doing their nails especially in films, but I suspect IRL it was very different.
I remember when I started work in the early 1980s you had to ask the switchboard to dial get a number for you, we had no external phone lines!

Inchy art

I've used some digital inchies I got from Zorana to make these cards. I printed them out then used layers of embossing powder to give them a crackle glaze. I love Zorana' work and am lucky enough to have one of her original paintings that I bought from her a few years ago, I've shared it on here before. On the card above I used a sentiment from Gourmet Rubber Stamps and some ribbon to link the inchies.

I'd like to enter the card into Anything goes challenge -Things with wings and Papertake Weekly challenge - anything goes.
I then used a very old stamp set to create the background for these two cards.
