Baby on the way......

One of the things I love about card making is be able to make a really personal card. I made this for someone at work who is a total Paul Smith addict. I used a Pink petticoat image and paper pieced using a PS design. She loved it!

Framed

Just having a play with my spellbinders and more micro beads. I used the same embossing folder for the background and the frame. Added a few little gems.

The writing is on the wall........

I saw a card similar to this ages ago, and it prompted me to buy the Fiskars sentiment stamps, of which this is one. I didn't have the right image to use with it though, until I found this digi image at Hobby Book. I used a brick embossing folder for the background and you might recognise the scallop as one being left over from a previous card.

mid month reminder for Penny Black & More blossoms and bows

This is a mid monthly reminder for our challenge over on Penny Black & More, this month we would like to see blossoms and bows. I really enjoyed making this DT card, I decided to take some patterned paper and then emboss over it with verdigri powder. The main Penny Black image is 4037K mixed media and a sentiment from the "wishes" set. I've used micro beads over the main image although it hasn't photographed too well. I was trying to get the beads for ages, then didn't get chance to use them and now I want to use them on everything!
I do hope you can join in our challenge and if you already have, why not join in again! Just remember no digis.

LIM week 115- a film - one layer

As most of you will know I am a bit of a Fashionista - so when it came to the Less is More challenge to chose a film, I chose "Coco before Chanel" - and I just happen to have a stamp with a Chanel quote on it! The stamp is from Krafty Kimmie and I have been itching to use it, so this is great. I used a mask from Clever cuts and sponged pan pastels over it to create the background. I felt it was lacking something and added a small A Griffin flourish. I decided not to colour her dress, thinking the background half colouring it was a nice effect.
My next film is "Cocktail" which is really just another excuse to use one of my new Frou Frou stamps from Crafters Companion. I've used Cosmic acrylic drawing inks to colour the image and a fleximarker for the skin tone. I used a set of spellbinder dies to emboss the corner and then coloured over with pan pastels. the sentiment is not from the stamps that go with the image, I decided to use one from a MFT set.

vintage thank you

When I saw the new frou frou range from Crafters Companion - I just had to have it (yes the whole range and the exclusives!)! This is the first of the stamps to see ink, I thought she was perfect for a vintage thank you card to fit the challenge over on Vintage Stamping. I've used one of the new gold spellbinder dies and with the letterpress technique to cut around the image.

LIM week 114 Lime & Black

This is my second post today, please scroll down for my Penny Black & More DT card.

Lime and Black is the challenge at Less is More this week. After being on a high from being showcased for week 112 I was brought back down to earth with a bump! I don't do lime! Then I remembered I had some lime green shrink plastic, why I ever bought that colour I don't know, it must have been all they had at the time. Being the frugal crafter I am, I had even saved pieces of it from some previous project.
I used three flower stamps from the Penny Black wishes set, stamped in black in and cutting around to leave some of the green on the edges, shrunk them down. This card is only 4x4 so it is really dinky in real life. The sentiment is from Gourmet rubber stamps.
Meanwhile my brain had been ticking and I remembered an offcut from a workshop I did that one one side was lime green. Out came the snipped and some die cuts that I purchased ages ago and these are the results.
Brain still whirring I remembered another flip side of a snippet I had and did this
Really into this colour scheme now I finally used a shaped shoe card, punched flower shapes and backed them with more of the snippet.I then used one of the itty bitty stamps to stamp into the apertures.
Completely out of my usual colour scheme, I rather like them, especially when all seen together. I would never have come up with these without the challenge. I'm also off to the Pixies crafty snippets playground #67  to show the others as they are of course all made using snippets.

Blossoms and bows at Penny Black & More this month

This month the challenge at Penny Black & More is Blossoms and bows. For my DT card I've used PB 4260K Tres chic and split the stamp into three images using spellbinder dies. The sentiment is a washable from Clever Cut.
I do hope you can come and join in with us this month, I would love to see all your blossom and bows creations. We have some fabulous prizes on offer as always. Just remember stamping must be the focal point of your card and no digis.

A landscape of snippets

I am so pleased how this card turned out and it is all from snippets. I used a memory box die to cut the trees and houses from two separate papers and then layered them over one another, cutting the houses away from the top layer and adding some paper for the windows and doors. The sentiment is from PTI and it is framed by a spellbinder die cut from another snippet.
I'd like to skip into the playground with this for Pixies crafty snippets playground week #66, even though Miss Di has been very naughty this week playing an awful April fool on us, see here for a laugh if you missed it, and yes it caught me out until the OH said "is it an April fool?"
I'd also like to enter the card into Papertake Weekly challenge which is "Anything goes" and Charisma Cardz challenge - Happy Birthday.
