White snippets

I had another one of these die cut gates and after making this card wondered what it would look like in white as a winter scene. I've used my favourite landscape die again and then the spellbinders snowman and snowflake dies from 2012. I added a piece of snowfall acetate behind the gate. All the dies are from the white box of snippets so I am off to the snippets playground week 113 to show Miss Di and the girls and also entering into Brenda's Spellbinder candy challenge as my second entry with my favourite die - the landscape. I'd also like to enter into the challenge on Winter Wonderland - It's the most wonderful time of the year.

mid month reminder for Make it Sparkle at Penny Black & More

A reminder about our challenge to "Make it Sparkle" over at Penny Black & More this month. For my DT card I have used PB Primp 3965K and a sentiment from Flonz. I've also used a tattered lace rose die to echo the backing paper. As well as the sparkly mount I've added some glitter to image.
I do hope you can join us this month, if you already have, you can still enter up to 3 times in total. Just remember no digis and the stamping needs to be the focal point of the card, but it doesn't have to be a Penny Black stamp.

sweet snippets

Last week I spied a card in the Snippets playground that Elizabeth had made using a patchwork card template - how I had missed this from Clever cuts I do not know as I love Ali Reeve and her products. anyway, before Sunday morning was over I had purchased a set of templates and this is the card I made with my first attempt. I had cut out all these Clarity stamp images for another card, but it was not to be and so normally I do not know what to do with tiny images, but I can see this template and the others getting a lot of use. So, I am off to the Snippets Playground week 112 to share my card and also entering into Cute Card Thursdays challenge, as I did some fussy cutting!

my fav craft item - landscape die

I'm really pleased how this card turned out. It all began because I was having a look through die cuts I had and found this garden arch/gate. I then decided to get inky and use my favourite memory box landscape die and the poppy and part of a tattered lace die and some flowers too!  The dies are cut from SU Bermuda bay. The card I posted yesterday was the ink left over from making this background. The Emmerson sentiment I recently acquired as part of a set of stamps from Hobby Art, and I think they are going to get a lot of use.

I'd like to enter my card into Brenda's Blogaversary Spellbinder Candy challenge, where she would like us to share a creation made with our fav craft item, mine being the landscape die.

Fav technique - craft a scene

I had a day off today - craft time - yippee! I got delayed on yet another train yesterday, only by 20 minutes, but it meant a later arrival home and so I was glad of a lie in this morning.
I've had a play with a few things today, but the one I am going to share is for the challenge on Craft a Scene - your favourite technique.
This card uses the same stamps as I used for my LIM card this week, but I have gone for darker colours and no white card. I took a pre-cut card blank and detached the inner arched card, dipping and dragging it in inks spritzed and left over on my splodgemat from another card. For the front of the card I wanted a lighter look and I used a brayer. The stamps are all from Clarity apart from the sentiments which are top-SU and bottom - forever friends.

Heart snippet

I've just been over at the snippet's playground and wow the playmates are getting so elaborate with their techniques that I hardly dare go in with this card for week 111. Plain and simple, two die cut silhouettes from TH set and a spellbinder die, SU sentiment - done.  The visit did have me purchasing a patchwork card template that I had not seen before too, so all in all a busy morning.

I'd also like to enter this card into the Ooh La La challenge who want to see a heart on your card and The Male Room Challenge who want to see a valentine for the man in your life, I think this isn't too girly.

LIM week 158

It's one layer time this week on Less is More, but anything goes. I've had this Clarity stamp set uninked for a while and it was on my list "to do", so thought I would use it for my card. The second card below is actually my first attempt, but I thought it maybe wasn't LIM enough so I had a second go.
I spent nearly an hour this morning sorting out my Tesco clubcard account as apparently I have been hacked and someone has spent all my points. I did get an email a week or so ago from Tesco saying I had an order but I thought it was just a scam and sent it to yahoo. They are going to give me by points back so I haven't lost out, but just inconvenient and lost craft time! They did say that it had probably been hacked from their side, as I am extremely careful about passwords etc.

Have a heart

The challenge on Simon Says this week is "have a heart" - show a heart somewhere on your creation. So, I have quite a few on mine. I decided to use the TH Bingo embossing folder and highlight the 14 with a silver gleam, I then cut out my own heart and stamped the Penny Black hedgie image by daubing relevant colours over the image, then I just coloured the flowers with sparkle gel pens.
Well despite not having had to travel anywhere this week, I have been tired in the evenings. I have to admit to falling asleep earlier, that is why this post is so late in the day, glad it is Friday tomorrow.

Make it sparkle at Penny Black & More this month

The theme this month for our challenge on Penny Black & More is "make it sparkle". I've chosen to use  PB4300K Melle Papillon and flonz butterlies for the embossed background on my DT card. This card is for a young lady who will shortly be 16 - and I hope I have struck the right balance between girly and slightly grown up for her. I used the embossing folder "tied together" and as it is a special card put gems on all the cross points of the embossing.
It's a little difficult to see the main sparkle so I took another photo up close of her dress which i sprayed with CC iridescent glitter.
I do hope to see you over on the challenge blog this month with a sparkly creation. As always there are lots of wonderful prizes to be had.

3rd birthday at LIM - Rainbow

The Less is More challenge is 3 years old today! Congratulations ladies.
For the challenge this week the theme is "Rainbow". I decided to interpret it literally with this MFT die, cutting two of each from SU cardstock out of my snippets box. I then added an SU sentiment which inked in different colours before stamping. I then decided to punch a heart in several of the colours and layer them up to make a rainbow heart.
As I used lots of snippets I was off to see Miss Di in the snippets playground to show her wot I done! But I forgot the gates close at lunchtime, so I will have to wait until tomorrow!
