All dressed up challenge

I recently discovered All Dressed Up digis and really love them. This digi although not a Christmas one I decided to make into a Christmas card for the eldest OH grand daughter. I put the image into MCS and added the word "yule" and now wonder if a 16 year old will know what this word means! Anyway, the sentiment is also from All dressed Up and is a freebie on the challenge blog. I colourised that in MCS and then added some green to the leaves with a promarker. I used some wide ribbon down the sides cut in half and the two snowflakes are a Waltzing Mouse die.
I'm entering this card into the All Dressed Up Facebook challenge which is Christmas and also the All Dressed Up challenge blog which is as always "anything goes". I'm also entering the card into the challenge sponsered by UDU at That Craft Place which is anything goes.

November Rudolph Day

It's time for the last Rudolph Day of 2014 and the last time with Sarn as the host before she passes over to Scrappy Mo in Canada. Thanks Sarn for all your work in running the Rudolph Day challenge and I look forward to seeing Mo's take on it.
So for now, Sarn challenges us to make two Christmas cards. I made mine with a PB wreath stamp. I stamped it once onto the base card and then again cutting out with a scalloped nestie around the outside and middle. The first one was to see how white on white worked - not too well so I changed over to gilding flakes for the second one. I've added to each some Sue Wilson holly die cuts and the greeting is by Paula Pascale.

Christmas at Ooh La La Creations

It's time for a new challenge over on Ooh La La Creations and my teamie Susan has chosen Christmas, so lots of opportunities for you to get some cards made for this festive time.
For my DT card I've used The Shawn Jenkins collection (again!) it is such a useful cd as it has a Christmas section on it which is where my card comes from. I think this art work is so unusual with it being a nautical Christmas wreath. I have a friend who loves anything to do with the sea, so this is going to be her card for this year, I can't wait until she sees it, as I doubt she's ever had one like it before.
All the elements are from the cdrom, and I also cut out an extra bow to decoupage up the image, just adding some tiny pearls.

I look forward to seeing what you create for this challenge.

LIM week 199 - Jingle all the way

"Jingle all the way" is the theme this week on Less is More. For my card I've used some Clarity stamps for the scene and a SU greeting from a set from last year.
I seem to be stuck in blue for Christmas cards at the moment! I'd even put the Paris Dusk ink pad away, so that's not the reason! I stamped all the scene with this colour and then lifted some of it from the sky with a water brush and some kitchen roll. I've also added various frost, glitter, snow effects. Cut out with a spellbinder distressed die and the edges lightly inked.
I'd also like to enter the "Let's get sentimental" challenge on Winter Wonderland.

Anything goes at penny black & more mid month reminder

For my mid month DT card over at Penny Black & More I decided to get out my silkies. I painted silkies onto the stamp and then spritzed with water to create the background and then spritzed some vintage mister too. Then for the main image I did the same thing without the water and used silkies to paint the image.
Thanks for looking and I hope to see you over on our challenge blog, especially as this month it's anything goes as long as it's stamping and not a digi!
Here's a close up to capture the sheen from the silkies.
As I've used Silkies, I'd also like to enter this card into the Anything goes challenge at Imagination Crafts

Houndstooth snowflakes!

I love A Day for Daisies images and when I saw the latest release, I just had to have this image. I used to have a Westie and so this really stood out for me as a fab image.
I decided not to colour the digi but instead to create a red background to put it upon cutting it out using one of the new spellbinder snowflake dies. I then cut the greeting with a cottage cutz die and the snowflakes were from a crafty friend and I overstamped them with the houndstooth stamp and sprayed with CC irridesicent glitter.
I'm entering this into the ADFD challenge where the theme is "use houndstooth".

LIM week 198 - more than one tree

I've been having a play with the gelli plate today. I decided I wanted to try and create some winter skies. For the first one I stamped little stars onto the plate before taking the print and on the second one I used a circle from a post it note to make a moon.
I then used a tree stamp in black with some added glitter and frost.
For this second card I used the spellbinder label 28 again, but cut the sides shorter.

I haven't been able to capture the frost too well - here's another shot.
I'd like to enter them into this week's Less is More challenge - more than one tree and at Sweet stampin challenge - to die for.

Coffee, Peach and Cream with Christine @ CD Sunday

For this card I've used a new cdrom from MCS called Fashionistas. Now, those of you that know me will know I love my fashion, so I bought it on the name alone. I have to say I am a little disappointed as it doesn't have the range of some of the other fashion cdroms MCS do (although the price of £4.99 reflects that I suppose) and I'm not that keen on the images. I decided this image was the one I liked the most and it fitted the challenge at CD Sunday of coffee, peach and cream. I designed and printed the whole thing in MCS so it is a one layer card apart from the gems.

All dressed up challenge

I found some new digital stamps called All Dressed Up and this is my first purchase. I just had to get her once I saw her showcased. I coloured her with promarkers and used a CC embossing folder for the background over two different papers, which I sanded. Then I cut flowers from the embossed papers too.
There's also a All Dressed Up challange blog where anything goes - so I'm off to enter my card there.

More than one fold at Ooh La La Creations challenge

When my teamie Julie at Ooh La La creations challenge blog chose more than one fold as the choice for this challenge I decided to get the old teabag folding skills into force again. For my card I'm using Shawn Jenkins cdrom  and the everyday collection from the cdrom.

First I printed the cupcakes DP and cut eight 5x5cm squares and then I used the basic folds to make triangles which I then slotted together to form the decoration. I then printed the a5 insert but resized it to fit the front of my card. Using My Craft Studio software I took another of the DPs and put that behind the blank panel creating a drop shadow around it. I then cut out digitally two cupcakes and the wording from the topper sheet and placed onto the white area. Finally I added a little glitter to the cupcakes and the border lines and some pink twine for the finishing touch.
I look forward to seeing what folds you come up with for this challenge at Ooh la la creations.

Remember

This is a card I've made using a Spellbinder create a flower die with CC poppy printed vellum. I embossed the background with a Anna Griffin poppy embossing folder and added a little stamp which I coloured with promarkers.
I'd like to enter this card into the Allsorts challenge  poppies/rememberance and sweet stampin challenge poppies or red for rememberance.

LIM week 197 - Starry, starry night

For my entry into Less is More challenge this week I chose to use one of the new Sheena Douglass stamps depicting St Paul's Cathedral. I did imagine this as a Christmas card and so the challenge today of Starry, starry sky prompted me to put ink to card and get on with it! I used some stars for the background stamped in versamark and winter white sparkle embossing powder, I then brushed Memento Paris Dusk ink over the top before stamping the scene in the same colour. The sentiment is from a Creative Expressions stamp set.

Anything Goes at Penny Black & More this month

I decided to use a Penny Black Stickeroo for my DT card at Penny Black & More this month. Our theme is "Anything Goes" so I had no restraints.  I need to use more of these Stickeroos and stop hoarding them LOL! This one is called Dreamscape 10-211 and I teamed it with a PB stamp Live Life PB3942F.
I started by using distress inks to created a background on my card. I then embossed part of the card with a butterfly folder and using water bleached out some of the colour from the card. The other piece of card I left plain and then stamped and stuck on the stickeroos, rounding the corers.

Thanks for looking and I look forward to see what you create this month with our theme of "Anything goes". Remember to check out the blog and see my fellow teamies amazing work too and all those amazing prizes to be won.

LIM week 196 non-trad xmas colours

For the Less is More challenge of non traditional Christmas colours this week I've taken the spellbinder holiday scene die and cut away the middle section for the houses and hills and then cut three freehand triangles for Christmas trees. Paula Pascale sentiment finishes it off.
