Creative Expressions Saturday - Vellum rosebuds

For my Creative Expressions DT card today I have used John Lockwood's Rosebud elements stamp set.
Here's a little step by step tutorial to show how I created it.

Step 1. Dust the cardstock with talc to ensure you achieve a good emboss by reducing the static on the card. Use a brush to clear the card of the talc.

Step 2. Take a piece of CE vellum and stamp the large frame from John Lockwood rosebud elements stamp set, using a versamark ink pad. Then use CE silver detail embossing powder and heat with a heat gun.

Step 3. Then stamp the sentiment and emboss in the same way as above. It is easier to do the sentiment after the frame has been embossed as otherwise you may disturb the powder on the frame image.

Step 4. Take the colour cloud and using the smoothie transfer a little of the ink onto your messy mat. Using a paint brush - paint the back of the embossed frame image using this ink. You could add a little water to the ink for an even lighter colour.
This gives a subtle effect – if you want it to be more vivid paint onto the front of the embossed frame image.
Step 5. To add depth to the embossed sentiment. Use the smoothie to add a little colour in the centre of the frame
Step 6. Cut the mounts for your vellum in your chosen colours. i.e. 13.5x 13.5 cm for the base layer, 11x11cm for the mat layer 10.5x10.5 to mount the vellum. Cut two 10.5 x10.5 to make a frame by cutting away the inside of the square. You will mount the frames one on top of the other to add dimension to your card.

Step 7. Using the refined rectangle frame die cut four of the long side of the die. Then cut four corners.

Step 8. Assemble the layers of the card and then put the parts of the die cut under the mat. The long ones on each side and then the corners.
