July Rudolph Day

It's time for Rudolph Day over on Mo's blog where we get to show our Christmas cards and hopefully make a few so there is no rush nearer the seasonal time. I haven't been doing as many Christmas cards this year and so decided to pull out all the stops and make two. I also wanted to use this beautiful CRM inspired die which I had yet to use. I also realised that a die by a completely different company worked well on the corners.

I actually made a non Christmas card first which I will share later this week. It was then that a little plan hatched, how would the die cut in in metallic with glitter paste behind it look? The top card is that technique and for the other card I used some extra sparkly red glitter paper I have (which I had totally forgotten about!). I did wonder after wards whether the sparkle paste looked any better than the glitter paper for all the effort but in real life they do look very different.

The images and papers I had printed last year and they never got used. They are from MCS Festive Deco Follies.

I'm also going to enter the challenge on CD Sunday which is Fab and Feminine.

Two beauties. Love all the gold filigree with the shades of the Christmas red. What a lovely way to use the DP, and I love your idea of tucking the tiny spotlighted retro lady in the center of this larger circle. Adding the multicolored design motifs as embellies - another brilliant design idea. #2 card is equally lovely with the drama of the enlarged lady, and wouldn't you just love to wear this hat? (well, I couldn't carry it off, but it's a beautiful hat!). This circle die is gorgeous too! TFS & Have a great week.

Two gorgeous cards here Linby and I especially like the first one with it's red and opulent gold. I love the Art Deco image and the way that the circular frame creates a Chrismas wreath around it. Sandra X

Two beautiful cards! They have an Art Deco look, methinks!

I love those dies you used...fancy finding two different manufacturers dies that go so well together. I would have guessed they were from the same company and designed together...

Thanks for taking part in the July Rudolph days Challenge.

These are both fantastic! I love those intricate dies - especially the corners - and the tag on the 2nd is a great embellishment!

Lovely cards Linby - the colours are great. You sound like me, print off loads of papers but don't use them LOL! I've learnt to write the CD their from on the back in pencil which is useful when you enter the CD Sunday challenge!
Thanks for joining in again.
