LIM week 71 - use a flourish, one layer

I've been such a good girl today! I've been doing housework before making any cards. I steam cleaned the kitchen and bathroom, defrosted the freezer, hoovered by actually moving things (in the craft room too!!)!, and baked these banana muffins from the new book by the winner of the last British Bake Off - Jo Wheatley
Then I sat down to watch some of a Barbara Gray DVD and fell asleep!!!!
Anyway, Chrissie and Mandi want to see flourishes this week on the Less is More Challenge. I've used an Anna Griffin stamp twice and a Big n Juicy Pad  in Hydrangea. The sentiment is from a Debbie Moore stamp set.
Before you go just to share this tale with you. I needed an orange to zest for the muffins. I bought one yesterday in Tesco priced 25p (I know!) got home and realised that the checkout lad had charged me for a Clementine which made it 66p! I did see him having a bit of a faff with it but thought no more of it. It isn't worth the petrol or time to go back so I decided on a different route and wrote on their facebook wall with this picture, the mug to show the size difference. Pointing out that surely there staff should be trained to know the difference between an orange and a Clementine.
At first they just said they could understand how frustrating it was and to go back and get their twice the difference refund. I pointed out I was making the muffins and would not have the orange to take back and then got someone else who offered to put the difference onto my clubcard which I accepted. Sorry for the long post - you are probably ready for a sleep yourselves now!
I'd also like to enter this card into Oldie but a Goodie challenge - anything goes, the A Griffin stamps I bought last summer from QVC. BTW I made their top three on the last challenge - thanks very much.

Well first of all, no wonder you needed a snooze after all that housework and as for Tesco - if he wasn't sure what type of fruit it was, you'd think he'd just have asked you! Anyway your flourishes are fabulous. A lovely card. xx

You've been really busy today Linby, it made me feel tired just to read about everything you did. I would have felt mad about the overcharging too, and I'm really glad you got a positive outcome without spending money on petrol!
Clever thought... using technology to solve the prob.
Your card is fab by the way!
Thanks so much
Chrissie

What a gorgeous flourish stamp so classy. Hats off to you for getting so much done before you started crafting today and for making a stand with Tesco!

PS I would have had a sleep after all that too - mind you I don't need much of an excuse for a little afternoon snooze!

I know it was frustrating for you when you were overcharged at Tesco but the way one thing led to 20 other things did make me smile! Your cards are lovely and the muffins look good too. Bravo for thinking of a way of complaining without the drag of going back to the store.

You must've been exhausted after all that activity Linby but not too tired to make your beautiful card! I love the flourish in these shades and I like the way you've positioned your sentiment in the curve of one of the flourishes. The muffins look delicious and I was very interested to hear the supermarket's reaction to your facebook message. How resourceful to sort it out without wasting any petrol. Vicky x

Smashing card, love the colours.

Good for you and clever to have thought of putting it on their facebook page with a picture, at least you had money back AND used it.

Would you like to pop round and do some cleaning here? No? Can't say I blame you!

You've made me want to get my big and juice rainbow pads out! Great card, especially with the flourish going off the edge. I always like that and here it suggests and multitude of flourishes.

cheers,
rachel

Linby, that flourish stamp is gorgeous and I love the color you chose to stamp it in!! I'm impressed that the store responded to you via facebook...how cool is that! Happy results! You asked about my last zentangle card...yep...I drew it. I'm getting more and more into my tangles. I find that it really relaxes me.

good on you for not letting them get away with the overcarging - wonder how many people actually check their receipts - my OH is on a rant to the same supermarket - cos each time he goes into our local one they've moved everything round and he has to spend ages looking for the few things he wants!
The muffins look scrummy!!
But the flourish is scrummier!! Great card!
