Glitter, glamour, girlie

A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to picked as one of the top three at Creative Inspirations Challenge with this card. That meant I got the option to be a GDT for a challenge, and this is the card I have made for this weeks challenge of Glitter, glamour, girlie. The challenge theme was chosen by one of their DT the lovely Suzi over at Sugar n Spice, and what a fantastic theme it is. I had a lovely time making this card with one of my new Kraftin Kimmie stamps "Cinderella". I added a chandelier stamp just to finish the scene! there is glitter on the edge of her dress and on the chandelier and of course she is mounted on some lush pink glitter paper.
I'm also entering it into
the Stamp Something challenge who want to see pink this week in honour of Breast cancer awareness
and ABC challenge - G is for glitter..

Feeling Autumnal

The Challenge on A Passion for Papertrey is to CASE one of the creations from a member of the PTI design team. I chose Dawn McVey and this card is what mine is based upon - I even got my sewing machine out (and it has been some time!) to do that stitching.
I just got the "In Bloom" set from PTI and a few other goodies. It is all the fault of Kate and Aimes for organising that fab PTI day - I just had to have more! I stamped the flower onto Summer sunrise and used the bitty stars basics in lemon tart to mount it on, with the base card being in the same colour. I used part of the sentiment from the stamp set to stamp "friend". The leaves and the edging are from the In Bloom DP.
I'm also entering it into:-

WOYWW 27.10

It's been ages since I joined in with WOYWW-but here I am. I even finished work early so I could fully paticipate! Yes, I really do craft in this mess LOL! On the left we have all the new stamps of which only one I am ashamed to say has seen ink. In the middle the recent Papertrey Ink acquisitions (so techincally more new stamps and paper, and a die!). All the leftovers from my recent cards on Monday afternoon and then on the right my gun to use with wax for seals, which I have been going to open for about a month now.
If you don't know what I am on about head over to Julia's blog and join in.

All in an afternoon's work

I had an unexpected day off work today - waiting for a delivery which still hasn't arrived aarrggh!
So I thought I would make some craftrak cards - this is the fruits of my labour this afternoon. As they are A7 they are quick to make up and all the elements I had preprinted. When I see an image I think I will use I print it out and put in a pile (a very big pile!). It seems when I start making these cards I can't stop but I have to be in the mood to do them. I won't be sending them all out at once - so should keep me going for a while.
The fashion images are from a Joanna Sheen CDrom, Betty Boop from a CD I bought from ebay, Flower shoe from Oooh La La CD, other images are free downloads from PCHug.

Oh Christmas Tree

I decided to use the Christmas tree from Spyder for this card in order to enter her October digi challenge. I made the tree rather large as I wanted to put Whiff of Joy "Oakley" by the side of  the tree, so it looks like he has decorated it. The card is 9x7. It's taken me a lot longer to colour the tree than I realised, it is only when you begin to colour you see all the great detail Spyder has put into this image.Bit like decorating the tree for real in that I think I have put too many colours in the same area LOL! Unlike a real one, I can't re do it now.  The background paper was free with a magazine, as was the tag. I've added some glitter but it hasn't shown up too well as per usual!
I'm also entering the card into-
Crafty Cardmakers challenge who want to see a freebie on your card - Spyder gave the tree as a freebie. Plus the DP was a freebie
Moving along with the times challenge who this week are sponsored by Letraset - so your image must be coloured with promarkers which mine are

Flashback Friday 4.0

I was lucky enough to win the last Amy's Flashback Friday challenge  at Tsuruta Designs blog and as well as a super prize I got to set the next challenge. I had to scratch my head over this as she had already had the first and last scrapbook page, and the first card you entered into a challenge.  I decided on "Post your first Christmas card that you blogged". Here's mine:-
This was October 2009-I had just got my cuttlebug and wanted to try out the alphabet die I got with it.

If you want to play along visit Amy's blog "Tsuruta Designs" and link a new post about your first Christmas card to be in with a chance of winning the fab prize. Please do not link the original post. Why not visit Amy's blog anyway, you will be blown away by her awesome talent.

Inside and out

My hairdresser leaves to have her baby boy this Saturday. This is the card I have made for her using Forever Friends DP, Lola Rose image from Pink Petticoat and inside an image from one of my newest MCS CDroms. All coloured with promarkers. Not sure I should have used this image for a hairdresser, I think she needs a bit of a tidy with her hair LOL!
I'm entering it into Caardvarks who want to see the inside and outside of the card decorated. Also ABC challenge where the theme is F for flowers.

Craftrak mosaic

I've been wanting to have a go at making a mosaic of some of my cards for ages. I finally got around to it using flickr and Mosaic Maker free online. Happy with what I have achieved in about 5 mins though. These are all Craftrak cards I have made, A7 size.

The day finally arrived on Saturday when I graduated from Henley Business School with my Masters Degree in Business Administration. I didn't blog last week because I came down with a bug and had to take three days off work, as you can imagine I was so scared I would miss my graduation. Luckily I felt well enough to travel down to Henley on Thames on Friday and me and the OH had a lovely weekend. I had a slight panic when I realised that the steps (fairly steep) down from the stage did not have a handrail, I think it showed because as I stepped back onto to Terra firma the lady at the bottom said "well negotiated!".

PTI Make and Take

These are the cards I made for the Papertrey Ink make and take swap this afternoon. I'm not too good at making more of one thing, but this was great fun to do, as I love this set of PTI stamps so much.
Here are the lovely ladies (Kate and Aimes) who made it all possible due to a lot of hard work and their fabulous designing of the projects we made.
Here is what I made this afternoon, if you want to see the originals then visit their blog Passion for Papertrey.
Below are the lovely things that my fellow crafters made for us - thank you everyone, I will treasure them. (Obviously not the wooden block in the middle, that is being used for display purposes LOL!)
Only thing now is that after meeting so many PTI enthusiasts it has made me want to order lots more of their products LOL!

Get well soon

All the elements for this card are printed from the My Craft Studio Perfect Petals cd rom. It is on offer at the moment if you buy crafts beautiful - you can get it for £2.99 instead of 14.99. I loved the look of the flower and printed it as soon as I saw it. I've put it all together on SU kraft card (which is now called cake crumb!) and added a sentiment from a PTI stamp set.
Thanks to those of you who took the time to give me printer advice. I've bought a wireless Espon - took a bit of setting up but that was mainly due to me! It kept saying there was a paper jam but I hadn't pushed the inks in far enough - doh! It really makes a difference compared to my old Epson, which I had to use the photo setting on all the time and of course use more ink. I have a backlog of images printed with the old printer because whenever I print something I fill the page - could be a while before you see anything from the new printer. Of course I have used it - just added to the backlog........
I'm entering the card into Creative Inspirations challenge which is for a get well soon card.

Some cards and printer advice needed

Just to let everyone know I am still here! Just not had time to create or blog recently. I have so many new toys (including the cinch!) that I think I am overwhelmed with what to do next. These are some A7 sized craftrak cards I have made recently. The top one is a freebie paper doll set from this site Forthedead - fairies with a real difference! The second one is another freebie Misscutipie image and it comes in 5 different colours, just to be different I altered mine in My craft studio to yet another colour! the last image is my first attempt at doing a background with ink pads by dragging them over the card, it also has some clouds but they haven't shown up very well.
I'm going to see Eat Pray Love tomorrow and going for something to eat so  not sure when I will be blogging or creating again. I also have some swaps to make for the PTI day I am going on this Sunday -yipee!
The other thing that has taken my time is trying to get my printer to reproduce all the lovely images I am creating from craft cdroms. I have tried all sorts of things but think it is time to get a new printer as it is 5 years old. I have looked briefly online and am bewildered by the choice, so does anyone have a printer they use and can recommend to me please.  Thanks x
