November Rudolph Day at Scrappy Mo's

Time for the last Rudolph Day of the year! Which prompted me to a bit of a Christmas card making frenzy. I've had these Anna Griffin papers for a few years, I did use some of them for scrap book layouts, but I felt the time had come to get them out and make cards.

I decided this spellbinder die was the perfect shape for what I wanted to achieve, and so as you will see I got in that particular groove and this is the result.

I'm off to link up my cards at Scrappy Mo's hope to see you there.

LIM week 251 - numbers

"Numbers" is the theme on Less is More this week. I think mine is self explanatory.

I'm also entering this into the snippet playground as the hashtag and thirteen were cut from snippets. The thirteen is from when I was making an advent calendar last year and I didn't need it, so I kept it!

I went through a phase of pre colouring images for use when I needed them, so this one has been coloured in for a long time. I knew I wanted to put the Thirteen with him, but just never got around to it - until now..... So a fairly quick card make.

Let it snow at ooh la la challenge blog

Debs has chosen the very seasonal challenge theme of Let is Snow at Ooh La La challenge blog this time. This challenge runs for the first two weeks of December and the challenge resumes in January. So time to enter and add to your Christmas card stock.

For my DT card I used Shawn Jenkins collection cdrom and this cute snowman image. I have a friend who loves birds so I think this is the perfect card for her.
Thanks for looking and I can't wait to see your Let is Snow inspired designs.

Sprinkle of Snowflakes

The challenge on CD Sunday this time is A Sprinkle of Snowflakes - doesn't that sound lovely, so that was the starting point for my card.
I've used as my base a new die from Apple Blossom which is new to me, they are from a company called Craftstash if you want to check them out. I first cut it out in some embossed green card and then wanted the stag in silver. So as I took some scrap to cut just the stag, part of the trees came out too, and I liked it so much I kept it. The Father Christmas and sleigh is from Sue Wilson Creative Expressions dies. The sentiment is from Tattered lace.
Now to the cd element - I used Shabby chic winter from Debbi Moore for the printed verse and the cut out trees. The background paper is by Stampin Up.
I'd also like to enter this card into the Simon Says Stamp challenge which this week is "Christmas".

mid month reminder for Anything Christmas at Penny Black & More

A reminder of our challenge this month on Penny Black & More which is "Anything Christmas" but we must see stamping as the focal point of your card as we are a stamping challenge.

For my card I first made a background using a sheet of adeshive over which I laid a snowflake stencil, I then put gilding flakes through the stencil to make the silver snowflakes. Then I removed the stencil and added blue mica powder to create this lovely background.
For my baubles I used PB Ornaments stamp set onto a brusho background I had created. I then cut out using a spellbinders die set and added a little touch of glitter. The strings for the ornaments are cut from some silver ribbon, which had this thread running through it.

Thanks for looking, would be lovely to see you at the challenge. A lot of you have already entered, but you can enter more than once! Fabulous prizes as always, pity I can't enter LOL!

Gin inspired snippets!

What a stormy night it is! I made this snippet card earlier with part of the lovely stamp set I won in the snippets playground a few weeks ago. So I thought I would pop in the playground and show everyone what I've done. I've paper pieced the lemons and leaves, printed the sentiment and picture of the G&T directly onto the card. The gingham paper for the lemons is very, very old - still some left though.

I'd seen another gin inspired quote and so thought I would use some more snippets and make it a gin post altogether! These two cards use the cd rom Viva La Divas which I have a bit of a love hate relationship with, but on this occasion it came up trumps for me.

Clarity CAS

This card is for the current Clarity challenge which is Clean and Simple. I decided to do a Christmas card to add to my pile, which I haven't dared to check - as I am sure there aren't enough!
I cut a template with the outside of the Christmas scene from spellbinders and then using a clarity mask made the background with aquatints and a little glitter. The tree was then stamped and embossed in green archival ink and then the little girl from the Christmas wee folk stamp set was stamped in black. After mounting onto the card I did a little set of wiggle lines with a fine liner pen.

Had a lovely day out yesterday at a craft fair held at Holme Pierrepont Hall. You may have heard of Holme Pierrepont as the home of the national water sports centre, and this Hall is just down the road. It's a Tudor Mansion House and well worth a visit if you like old buildings - it was a great setting for the fair.

New Home snippets

I made this card for a friend who recently moved. I've been a little pedantic with myself, as she has bought a bungalow and the Papertrey stamp set I've used was for two storey houses. So I decided to do a little snipping and came up with this - which is not a traditional English bungalow, but at least it is similar to some you see!

I'm popping over the to Snippets Playground to show everyone as the papers I used were snippets apart from the stripped base which was a whole new sheet - OMG!

I've also got some super exciting news, but I can't share it yet..........

Pearls and Lace at Ooh la la Creations challenge blog

Our challenge at Ooh La La Creations challenge blog this time is Pearls and Lace as chosen by Avril.

I've used red roses and black pearls design from Shoes in Bloom 1 cdrom for my DT card.

This was the first cdrom I bought from Ooh La La and I still love it and its sister Shoes in Bloom 2!

I used one of the larger prints for the background and then the shoe toppers were mounted onto black mirri card. A little lace from my stash, some black sheer ribbon and a black rose that I decided looked perfect on this card, and it is perhaps time I started to use them rather than just look at them LOL! finally I found I had some black pearls too.

I had some paper left over, so unusually for me I decorated the inside of the card too.

Please do visit the blog and see the inspiration from my teamies. You have two weeks to enter the challenge.

Christmas at Allsorts

At Allsorts challenge this week they want to see anything as long as it is Christmas related. Here is a little box I made using the spellbinder die with a stamped image behind. I added a little glitter and some snowflakes, with a ribbon around the finishing touch.

Less is More week 248 - paper piecing

I think I need to take this picture in again in daylight - but for now here it is.(Edited to add new photo) My paper pieced Julie Nutting stamp with touches of promarker colouring and a glitterdust bodice. The sentiment is from Mama Elephant and I hope turns this Valentine girl into a Christmas girl!
I'm playing along with the paper piecing challenge at Less is More and also Snippets Playground as there are to tiny snippets used on my card.
Look what I just spied outside - magical! although if there had been a spider I would have run a mile LOL!

Anything Christmas at Penny Black & More

Well if you haven't started your Christmas cards yet, this is the perfect time to begin with our new challenge at Penny Black & More challenge- Anything Christmas (must include stamping as the focal point).

For my DT card I made a start on the special cards with this Grand daughter card. I love this image which one of my PB & More teamies used last year, and I just had to have it.

I created a background using a vaseline emboss resist with a snowlfake stencil. Unlike an embossing powder resist this leaves you with a nice flat surface for stamping. I used Dashing through Snow stamped with blue ink and clear embossing powder. I then used Cosmic shimmer inks to paint the tree. I used a circle die to cut around the image.

I folded a piece of snowfall acetate in half and attached my image with a snowflake brad. I cut some additional snowflakes from burnished silver card and the sentiment. The Happy Christmas is cut from glitter card.

I looked forward to seeing your creations. Remember please no digis.
