July Rudolph Day

I was lucky enough to win June Rudolph Day and the lovely Sarn even wrapped by prize in Christmas paper so it really did feel like Christmas when it arrived.
Each month Sarn challenges us to make two Christmas cards and this month I used the stamps from my prize. I bought some lovely linen effect silver and gold card from C&C and this is the silver card. I then ran it through a mistletoe Crafters companion embossing folder. I did the same for the base card on the second one and the decal is from Anna Griffin.
I' also like to enter the cards into Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - emboss it.

Vintage kind words

I've mixed things up a bit with this card. Is it for a man or a woman? Well I'm a woman and I like cars so I decided to go vintage using images from Robert Addams Art Deco Delight and Debbi Moore's shabby chic vintage travel. I also used a car from Penny Black and stamped with micro boss and then used flocking - it's a furry car!!!
I'd like to enter this card into the vintage challenge at Ooh La La Creations and the Kind words challenge at the CD Sunday challenge.
I used snippets for the background paper and the images are from a sheet I printed for something else, so I am skipping off to Pixies playground to show the playmates.

The Quirky Silk Road

This is a card I made using a Hunkydory kit as the base and then adding tattered lace die cuts. I paper pieced the fan on the oriental lady so that it stands out from the main image.  The picture below shows a better idea of how the card looks on the folds.

I'd like to enter this card into the challenge on Quirky Crafts - The Quirky Silk Road.

LIM week 181 - singin' in the rain

When the Limettes picked the theme for Less is More challenge this week I'm not sure they realised quite how topical it would be. We had constant downpours here yesterday, and no it didn't inspire me to make this card as I felt too ill to do anything yesterday.
However, I was blog surfing and came across this card on Sally's blog and remembered I had a raindrop stamp that had not yet seen ink.
So here it is with a sentiment from a Sheena Douglass stamp set. I highlighted the raindrops on the die cut with some iridescent glitter after stamping them with a London fog memento ink pad.
We've been to a preview showing of the new Planet of the Apes film today and it was spectacular - do go and see it if you can. We then went for a lovely meal and after a day of doing nothing yesterday, I felt I needed to get in the craft room today and produce!

mid month reminder for Punches and dies at Penny Black & More

Just a quick reminder about our current challenge over on Penny Black & More this month which is dies and punches.
I've used a Marianne circle die and a spellbinders tag die cut from poppy vellum, mounted onto  Hunkydory poppy cardstock, using a flonz sentiment stamp. My PB stamp is 4308 field of poppies - which I paper pieced with the same vellum and then coloured with promarkers for the grasses.I actually did two layers of vellum for the main poppy to give some dimension.

LIM week 180 - adapt a fingerprint

When I saw the challenge on this week's Less is More was adapt a fingerprint (on a one layer card), I have to admit being stumped and not about to partake. Then I decided to have a look on Pinterest and found the inspiration for this card using Christmas lights, which I thought I could maybe manage without it looking too much like one of the Grandchildren had made it.
I used TH distress inks and my little finger to put lights along a line drawn with a pen. The sentiment is from a Crafters companion set and I thought it went with the rather jazzy card colours.
I then wondered what it would look like if I used my new Creative Expressions glitter pastes. I limited it to gold and red and this is the result.
Another CC sentiment from the same set and this time stamped in Versamark gold.

Well my fingertips now look like I spent the morning at the Police station LOL! So pleased I managed to make it a one layer too, and heartened that even our Chief Limette Chrissie forgot it was one layer to prove we can all make mistakes!

Round again-recycling with Carol at CD Sunday

When I saw the challenge on CD Sunday was recycling I was a bit at a loss as to what to do. I had already done a recycling card for Less is More and my mojo was gone. Then someone at work went to Blackpool and brought us all a stick of rock back with this on.......
out came the Debbi Moore shabby seaside cd rom again and this is the result.
Look at that label closely - if you can- did rock have that many e numbers when we were kids and did it say it may have an adverse affect on attention in children! - I don't think so.

Dies and punches at Penny Black & More

This month at the Penny Black & More challengewe would like to see your dies and punches. Remember you don't have to use a PB stamp to enter - you can use any stamp as long as it isn't a digi, and stamping must be the focal point of your card. You could use a PB stickeroo like I have for my DT card. This is 10-160 and I've hardly used any of it, so watch out for another creation using it.
I had some oriental paper a blogging buddy gave me and so I covered the DL card with this, and then at the bottom of the card enhanced the tree blossom by mounting on top of the printed picture more branches and blossoms using a spellbinder die.
I'm really pleased how this turned out, plus the inspiration of the PB stickeroo helped me use the spellbinder cherry tree blossom in a way I hadn't thought of before.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you create and of course there is lots more inspiration from my fabulous teamies over on the challenge blog. If you do decide to use a PB stamp we might select you to be a future GDT.
