Creative Expressions Saturday - using a stencil

I've made an anniversary card for my DT make this week. I used the Cosmic shimmer liquid shimmer paint to recolour the padlock from Craft Consortium. I used the Cosmic shimmer iridescent watercolour paints to add a little colour to the silver embossed stamping. The "splash" stencil was used with cosmic shimmer flake and glitter glue with silver gilding flakes. The background die is the pierced roses die.

May Rudolph Day

I got a set of aperture cards from Jem in a Creative Design swap a few months ago organised by this lady CapturebyLucy. I decided to make some brusho backgrounds and put them behind the aperture to make trees. Then I realised the Sheena Douglass lights and die set would go with the designs. I also had a candle aperture card that I think was free at some point with a magazine, so I put that into the mix also.

I've used a variety of glitter brushes on them so they have a little sparkle in real life.

Once I had photographed the cards I thought they would be a little picture heavy for the post so I made this little montage of them all. But here is one in a single photo so you can see the detail.

I will be linking them with Mo's Rudolph Day challenge.

Die cut snippets

I haven't been in the snippets playground for a couple of weeks - sorry Miss Di - so I am going to sneak in with this card.
I wanted to use the waste from a large background die I have. It cuts a lovely background as seen on this card, but there is just so much waste! So I kept it in a little bag and decided to do something with it  - but what? This is the first idea I've had, there is still loads of it, so going to have to think of another idea.....
The flowers and leaves are from snippets too and the sentiment is from an SU set.

When I saw the challenge on Less is More was something that Pops or Bangs - I could only think of balloons - but then I thought bubbles - Clarity bubbles. So I began this card as my Less is More entry and also my Clarity challenge entry which this month is anything goes.

I'm not sure this elegant lady would be blowing bubbles - but I put a little wand in her hand as that is what she is now doing! with the aid of the Clarity bubble stencil.

Just in case you missed my announcement yesterday - I will be on Hochanda on Thursday 2 June at 11am and 3pm with Ooh La La cdroms - hope you can watch!

4 legs not 2 at Ooh la la Creations challenge and my TV debut!

Janice has chosen our theme of 4 legs not 2 for the next fortnight at Ooh la la Creations challenge blog.

I've used the Paula Oakley cdrom for my DT card and the image called "Bertie".  I've used the wonderful paper which features Bertie's dog hair as the background. I also embossed the picture to look like a photo - unfortunately that hasn't picked up too well in the photo.

If you want to see how I created this card then join me on 2 June when I will be making my TV debut on Hochanda at 11am and 3pm when I will be showcasing the Ooh La La CDroms and showing you how I made this card.

mid month reminder at Penny Black & More - anything goes

Time for a little reminder about our challenge this month over at Penny Black & More where this time it is "anything goes" you just need to make sure your stamping is the focal point of your work and no digis.

For my DT card I've used the new cute Mason Jars die from Penny Black and of course what else would a fashionista have in jars but shoes and bags LOL! I used a stencil to create a faux shelf for them to sit on. The stamps are from Hello Gorgeous and Sprinkles and Smiles PB stamp sets.

Please visit the blog and see the amazing work my teamies have to show you too.

LIM #276 At Sea

I've had this stamp by Personal Impressions for a while and not got to use it. I thought it looked liked the pebbles you see under the sea when paddling, so that is why I've used it for the "At Sea" challenge at Less is More this week.

It's also one layer week at LIM so I  stamped directly onto my card using TH pumice stone and old paper, and sepia versamark. Then with a little diluted aqua tint I went around and over some of the stamped image. Finally I used a Hobbyart sentiment stamped and embossed in black ink over the top of the image.

I'm also entering this card into the challenge at Shopping Our Stash which this week is Sounds of the Sea.

B is for..... at CD Sunday

B is for ...Bloke! I used the Serif Bloke collection of cdroms to make this card. Very simple as the main part of the card was a layout and I just added the sentiments. Difficult to make male cards for teens so I was pleased with this.

I'm entering this into the challenge B is for at CD Sunday challenge.

Creative Expressions Saturday - using iridescent watercolours

For my DT card this week I have used the pierced roses die without embossing. I then painted the roses and leaves with Cosmic shimmer iridescent watercolours, filling in some of the leaves. I then stamped with Just rite stamps over the roses. I also used the watercolours to stamp with at the bottom of the card. Finally I also used the watercolour to recolour the resin rose and ribbon to co-ordinate with the rest of the design.

LIM week 275 - pastel colours

Two cards using one stamp from me today. I've been hankering after this daisy from Indigo Blu for a while and the other day saw it in a store, it is!

I've decided to use it for the current Less is More challenge which this week is pastels.

For the first card I stamped onto watercolour card and using inktense pencils water coloured the daisy and then sprinkled with some alcohol solution, cutting out the centre with a die and then mounting onto the stamped image this time with no colour. The sentiment is from Stampin up.

I also used the same technique on some stamping card, this time spraying with cosmic shimmer paint. Now I can't decide which one I like best!

Mythical at Ooh La La Challenge Blog

Time for a new challenge over at Ooh La La and Susan has chosen our theme this time, which is Mythical.
I've used the Fairies & Blooms cd rom for my DT card.
I just love the weave effect background papers that are on the Ooh la la cdroms and I have to stop myself using them on all my DT cards! I haven't used one for a while so this very pretty one got to be used along with the image and tag all from the cdrom.

We would love to see you with your Mythical creation over at the blog.

Songs from the movies

I made this card using the "boys" part of the boys and girls cdrom from Crafters Companion. I used a graphics programme to put the spaceman on the background to keep postage costs down and make it more boy friendly!

I'm entering this into the challenge at CD Sunday for Songs from the Movies - mine is Spaceman from The Martian.
