My first Rudolph Day

Well this is my first time entering the Rudolph challenge. I am only just making it under the wire too. I did make the card a week or so ago because I got confused and thought you could enter all month! when in fact it is from 25th onwards.
I cut a nestie out from some glitter paper and then using a preprinted image I had I also covered that with a sheet of glitter adhesive, so it is really glittery.
I got hit by a viral bug after my last post, I had felt a little unwell a few days before but been carrying on. Unfortunately come Monday morning I could not make it to work and have been laid low with the bug since. I did make it to work today but my legs were like jelly, very lucky for me two colleagues were on hand to literally support me into work.

LIM week 108 - paper piercing

When I first saw the challenge on Less is More this week I thought it was for paper piecing, and I thought oh goody - re-read and realised piercing was on the agenda.
I've cut a frame with nesties and pierced around the edges of it with a special ruler. IRL the pink card is a much softer pink. A creative expressions sentiment is then stamped behind the mount, added a stamped SU Manhattan rose (USA release only!), and the co-ordinating folder used to emboss the corner and lightly inked.
I have had a little surge in new followers I notice, so thanks for following me and welcome to my blog.
Right, off to get the rest of the jobs on my list done - mainly housework unfortunately!

Baby cards

I had a request for three baby cards from the same person. She said she wanted certain colours for each and the baby's name but she left the rest to me. Also  her friends don't know one another so I was able to do the same design for each card to save time. So, this is what I have come up with. I first printed the sentiment and name in the bottom corner. Using snippets from the box, I used a free stamp from a mag that I only just got (that was handy!). cut the rabbit out and hung it as a toy, added a SU punched heart and a Kaisercraft swirl stamp and baby stamp.
I'm popping over to the playground at Pixies Crafty Snippets challenge #60 with this and the other two colourways and also I would like to enter this pink and white card into Ladybug TLT Inks challenge- who want to see pink +?

May your birthday........

I've got some preprinted cards that I have had for a while, so I decided to try and use them. The main stamp is from Marianne, I then masked around the image and sprayed it with cosmic shimmer in pink. The sentiment is from PTI. Quite pleased with how it turned out.

I was at the hospital yesterday and have been discharged regarding my balance. The audiologist was pleased with the progress I have made doing the eye exercises. But to take it further I can do them whilst looking at a busy background, she suggested I buy some wrapping paper. I did wonder whether to tell her I have hundreds of sheets of paper at home to chose from, but thought she may not understand! So I chose the busiest piece of 12x12 I could find and it's now being utilised.

I'd like to enter the card into the challenge for birthday cards over at Creative Card Crew.

Spring is in the air.......

Well spring weather is yet to hit here, it was freezing this morning. Not helped by the fact that my work relocated this weekend and so I am now on public transport, no more heated car seat for me LOL!
Anyway, the challenge on CD Sunday this week is "Spring is in the air" and I decided to make an Easter card, a little early I know but it all just came together that way.
I used a CDrom from MCS called Whimsical Spring Collection, it is a set of images for colouring with promarkers and I think it was free with a set of promarkers last year from Stephanie, so not sure if you can buy it normally.
I chose the images from the CDrom then using MCS tinted them with a brown tint and then coloured with promarkers.

LIM week 107- up in the air

The challenge on Less is More this week is "up in the air". For this card I used a square nestie taped to the card and with adirondack inks dusted the card, removed the nestie used the Clarity balloon and added a PTI sentiment. This was actually the last card I made.
I started with this one - inspired by an article in a mag using string, did a little paper piecing too.
Then this one using the free stamp with Crafts beautiful which I bought because my friend and Teamie Brenda (Floral Fantasies) at Penny Black & More at Allsorts is featured in - alongside Tim Holtz!
I'd also like to mention that we don't have our usual number of entries over at Penny Black & More this month - there are fantastic prizes on offer, so nip over and enter as you have a good chance of winning with such low entry numbers. You don't even have to use a PB to enter.
I thought this dog would surely be up in the air with this many balloons on this back! He originally said Happy Fathers Day, but I masked off the wording and used a Paula Pascale "birthday" stamp.
and finally....

Love is like a butterfly.........

Look familiar - yes I used the same design as I did here for the heart cards, but this time I used butterflies and a different sentiment, from SU.
This one with the addition of a little punched heart too.
I think I've got this idea out of my system now LOL!
I'd like to enter into the challenge on Daring Cardmakers - Fly, fly butterfly and Crafty Creations - love and/ or hearts.

Up, up and away

I've been working away for a couple of days, so it is nice to get back and get crafty!
I'm on a bit of a roll with boy cards, I decided if you do enough of them maybe they will get to be as easy as girly ones......... jury's still out LOL!
For this card I used two sheets from a matt stack, the top one was in my snippet box as it had a square cut from it for a previous card. So I just wondered, what would it look like if I used that as the focal point, and I thought it looked ok, so I went with it. Putting a sentiment from a magazine sheet of freebies in the centre and also the "5" was from a magazine freebie. The image is from Bugaboo and coloured with promarkers.
I'd like to enter this card into the challenge at Digital Tuesday - Up, up and away and also into Pixies Crafty snippets challenge #59.

Tuesday, 12 February 2013

I seem to have made quite a few valentines cards this year - of course not all for me LOL! I came across some shapes I had and in amongst them were some hearts, so I decided to do some nice CAS cards. Both use a frame from Waltzingmouse stamps and sentiments from Anna Griffin.

and here it is with a black heart and a different sentiment
I'd like to enter these into the following challenges:-
Cards for men - all my love
Aud's sentiments - Adult valentine
Crafty Sentiments Designs - valentine's
Kaboodle Doodles - valentines
One Stop Craft - love is in the air

On your bike!

The CD Sunday challenge this week is "on your bike". I've used The Collectors Edition Kid's cdrom by MCS for all the elements. I first picked the wall background and then using another paper punched the boy on the bike out of it, then superimposed it over the wall background, adding the text (what that means I have no idea!).
I then added the greeting down the side and printed the whole thing in one go. I then took the punched image and tiled it, then using a mask cut cogs from the paper. The background is a brick embossing folder.

LIM week 106 - one layer and music

When I saw the challenge on Less is More this week was not only one layer but music my heart sank a little. I don't have a lot of  stamps with a music theme, I did think I had a music embossing folder, but either I never bought it, or I have misplaced it!
Then I remembered I had some wonderful free digital images from "Free vintage digital stamps" blog which had a music background. All the work with the main image was I admit done for me, I took it into MCS and tinkered with the edges, giving them a fade. I then used the scissors to cut around one of the notes and pasted it next to my sentiment - which I came up with all on my own! I used a free font called "Pea double n jenn" from two peas in a bucket.

Girly bookworm

I love this quote from R D Cumming, that is why I bought the Unity stamp set  which also comprises the books I stamped for the background. I used a stamp from TGF and coloured her with promarkers and fleximarkers.
I'd like to enter it into:-
Moving Along with the Times challenge- only girls allowed
Crafty Sentiments challenge - anything goes
I'm going to nip it into the playground (Pixies crafty snippets #58) too as I used a snippet from this card.

Have a heart

A very quick card from me today. I was inspired by something similar Sue Wilson had done on her blog and this is my take on it. I've used one of the branches from the Cherry blossom spellbinders die set cut from a snippet of kanban mechanical paper. An SU punched heart from a piece of card rescued from the bin. I realised that after I finished the last heart fold card, I had no red card left! So this is a extra small snippet from the bin. An Anna Griffin sentiment completes the card. I then just drew the "string" holding the heart.
I'd like to enter this into Simon Says Stamp - have a heart and into Pixie's crafty snippets playground #58. I've just been to the playground and it is really busy in there this week - hardly room to swing a hockey stick!

Showtime @ CD Sunday

The theme on CD Sunday this week is "Showtime". I was a bit unsure what I was going to do for this but hopefully my card fits the bill. The idea being that the lady is going to be singing when someone turns up to play that piano!
I used Debbi Moore Diamonds & Lace cd rom for all the printed elements. I used a piano keyboard stamp for the background, stamping in Adirondack espresso ink. I don't know the make as it is one I bought a while ago and it came unmounted and unpackaged.

Red, red and more red

I made this heart card using a template from a magazine a friend lent me ages ago. It opens out into this....
I used an embossing folder to emboss roses onto the outer edges only. Punched two hearts with the small SU punch and then put the waste on the inside of the card. Added a couple of PB stamped images from "A piece of my heart" set coloured with promarkers and a SU jewellery tag.
I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:-
Penny Black Saturday - love and marriage
Allsorts - let's get cute
I love promarkers -love
Kaboodle Doodles - hearts
Delicious doodles - red, red and more red

Pink, pearly and swirly at Penny Black & More

It's the first Sunday of the month and so time for a new challenge on Penny Black & More. This month our theme is pink, pearly and swirly. This is my DT card using PB 4077K Daydream and 30-103 wishes for the main sentiment. The hugs and kisses sentiment is from a sentiment selection at Flonz.
I cut two nesties, one with white card and one out of mirri card and rotated them. I've coloured the image with promarkers and sponged with TH inks the background. I've added some tiny pearls the corners of the main image and alternate corners of the mirri mat.

I do hope you can join me and my teamies over at Penny Black & More this month, as always there are many lovely prizes to be won, and you can also opt to be a GDT.

I'd also like to enter this card into the Simon Says Stamp challenge which this week is anything with the option of using PB stamps and Moving Along with the times - punch it out.

2nd Birthday at LIM with Kraft and Kreme

The Less is More Challenge is 2 years old this week - where does the time go to? This week they want to see only the colours Kraft and Kreme on a card.
Only yesterday I "found" these two cream card bases, I don't use cream card very often, and put them on a "must do something with them" pile, and here they are! Unfortunately they haven't photographed too well, the first one above is a linen weave.
For my first card I've used the Spellbinders Cherry blossoms die set. I added a tiny spot of brown gel pen to the centres of the flowers.
This next card uses some spellbinder dies and a couple of punches, together with SU jewellery punch tag and stamps.
I'd also like to enter the card into the One Stop Craft challenge - anything goes.
