LIM week 122 - colour

The challenge on Less Is More this week is colour - the colour of your front door! How do the LIM Divas come up with these themes!  So here is my door. I decided to focus on the two frosted panels and recreate them using frost shrink plastic - which I haven't shrunk! Then I used two dies from different spellbinder sets to create the detailing. To echo the gold bars I used some gilding wax along the edges of the apertures and on the embossing of the die to give some definition. I would have cut two rectangles but my dies weren't the right size or shape and I don't trust my own cutting skills, so I used the spellbinders distressed  edges dies instead, and quite like the effect. The sentiment is from Anna Griffin, embossed in mirror gold.

Feeling quite smug with myself, that 1) I got it done so early and 2) it was relatively simple. Look, see and do - easy! got my voice back but throat has been sore all week and will not go away - been gargling with salt water etc to no avail.

Lovely idea, lots of work as well, cleaver to use the shrink plastic without shrinking it. Makes super frosted glass.
