LIM week 143 - string or twine

Well I have had such a busy day today and managed to get my Less is More challenge card done - hoorah! When I saw the challenge was twine I immediately thought of the set of lovely coloured american crafts twine I bought earlier in the year. Of course any excuse to bring a challenge around to fashion and I am there.  I had a flash back to a vintage Valentino dress I saw in the exhibition in March. Where pieces of cord had been wrapped in silk and stitched onto a dress covering it in downward piping. I can't find a photo and you couldn't take any in the exhibition so you will just have to imagine it. stitched by hand I remember thinking I would not have the patience to make it.
So, this is my take on it.  I used one of the Julie Nutting doll stamps, stamped it and then glued two colours of twine onto the image along the fold lines. I then cut with a spellbinder distressed edges die. Adding the sentiment and Eiffel tower from a stamp and die set by Hero Arts/Sizzix.

What a brilliant use of the twine, so inventive.

A diva in the making.

Continuing in c&p mode until my hands and fingers are better and I can type properly again, but have to still visit everyone to see what they are up to and say hello.
