LIM week 178 - recycle

I've had this stamp for a few months and decided she would fit with the sentiment on this gift tag from Monsoon. The tag was on the clothing in store last year to celebrate their 40th year, I saved it and this is the second one I have used on a card. Below is how the tag started out and the reverse, which I only covered the blurb as the other elements looked too nice to cover.
I paper pieced using a SU snippet, colouring some of the detailing with a duck egg promarker, then added a SU sentiment from the postage collection. SU punched hearts and a little seam binding complete the card, all mounted onto some SU cardstock.

This card is for the challenge on Less is More this week which is to use a recycled item on your card.
I'm also entering it into
and Allsorts - Summer girls.

Finally I'm sharing a photo of a circumzenithal arc - an upside down rainbow. It's not really a rainbow as it is do with ice and not rain - but anyhoo - someone at work took it on Wednesday evening and it is apparently very rare. Would have loved to have seen it myself.

Great recycling Linby, I think I would have saved that tag too! You have made a great job of it. I was really interested in seeing the pic too. I saw and 'upside-down' rainbow in France once and thought I'd had a little too much of the sauce! It's great to see that they really do exist!
Thanks so much
Chrissie

What a super stamp and a lovely way of recycling the tag. I also love the photo in your blog header. Is it of your garden? Stef

Hi chick! Fabby card - I popped over from Sarn's blog to say well done on your win and was astounded to see I don't follow you! Put that one right but am SURE Mr Blogger is mucking around as I've always loved your blog. Sheesh, that 'upside down rainbow' really is beautiful. As were your RD cards too.

Hugs, Di xx

Di again! I just showed Len and he fished out a fabulous book to show me (The Atmosphere). It describes and has diagrams of how the arcs are formed - and they're really only ever seen in our latitude in June/early July and then just for a few hours around noon - therefore a truly rare spectacle, especially in Europe!

Your friend was so very lucky and really ought to add the photo to the Wikipedia 'Circumhorizontal arc' article - our amazing ice spike from the Playground birdbath is on Wikipedia from a couple of Winters ago! That way it's adding to knowledge and is there for the future.

Gorgeous card Lynn, and love the sentiment!
I saw one of those rainbows once, it was gorgeous and so amazing to see!
What a great idea to use the tag on this card, it matches perfectly. LOVE it.

Great photo too, your friend could also add the picture to weather photos, easy to do and I'm sure lots would be interested.

PS Thanks for all the lovely comments on my cards
