November Rudolph Day at Scrappymo

Happy November Rudolph Day. A little bit of a different day for me, as this month I am lucky to be a GDT for Mo and the Rudolph Day Challenge.

I thought I had better push the boat out as this is a GDT card! I used a salt technique and aquatint background for my starting point. I know this technique is on the TV a lot at the moment, but this piece is actually from a workshop I did with Sheena Douglass in August.

I then used Clarity holly and tree stamps, SU reindeer stamp, Father Christmas and his reindeer from Clearly Besotted set, and then framed it with my new Memory Box die cut from lovely sparkly glitter card by SU. I bought the die while with Mo in Canada and I can see soooo many uses for it.
My die cuts are from another background I made using brushos and are cut with the Marianne die and tattered lace and Joanna Sheen ivy dies. Mounted onto some black card -phew that was a mammoth card as it is 7x10 inches in size.

Thanks for looking and I will be along to check out your Rudolph Day makes too.

If you are in the UK - I hope you remembered to turn your clocks back 1 hour...........

Hi Lynn, beautiful card and fabulous background! I was reading your sentiment tree and it made me think of the Aussie version of the carol, let's just say they are both considered weeds and require round-up (poison)...have a wonderful week...Megan

Really beautiful. The die cut is so perfectly sized for the tree stamp it looks as if they were designed to go together. Congratulations on being GDT.

This all goes together so beautifully. I rarely make the larger cards, but some designs, like this one, deserve a bit more space. The background is very pretty, and I love those glittery trees framing the scripted one. Kate x

Oh Wow! I just leve every single aspect of this card. That background is amazing...so beautiful. I like the way you used the glittery frame around a portion of this larger sized card. The size of your card allows you to showcase that die and yet still create a scene...love that!

I did not notice till I read your post that the ivy was cut from created inky paper as well. Another brilliant idea!

Thanks so much for being my guest designer this month. I really appreciate it.

WOW! A perfect technique card for your GDT at Rudy Day. Had to zip over to read the 'how-to-s' when I saw it there, and I'm loving the background, the salt spots and the gorgeous gold glitter die cut. Wonderful colors with the brusho-s on the ivy...Just a beautiful, fantastic card. Haven't tried the salt, but this one is inspiring me to so. TFS & Hugs
