week 244 LIM - colour

Who stole the sun - just when I was enjoying it too. Well at least it made me get on with my chores this morning before settling down to tackle the Less is More Challenge. When I saw the challenge this week was "jewel colours" I was set to go down a completely different route. But then I saw the piece of card I had been playing with and felt this was more suited.

I embossed red card using a Creative Expressions folder and then "grouted" it with sparkle paste. Then when it was dry I rubbed over the whole surface with a versamark pad and embossed with clear powder. This I think gives the card a real jewel like quality - but not quite so apparent in the photo (I did try!). I then cut the card using the spellbinders babuble set and used a micron pen to draw the strings holding the baubles.

The sentiment is from a Mama Elephant set that I treated myself to on my recent Canadian trip.

Baubles are so popular, can anyone else remember the late 60s early 70s when getting a "bauble" card meant the person probably didn't like you very much, and had sent you the worst card in the box!

I love this card Linby. Striking, exotic and I do love a bauble card - think it was the snow scene ones we dreaded in our house ... those that were dripping in glitter! ewww! thanks so much for sharing and taking part.

Love your bold red blingy baubles. Really pop against the white. I remember the exact bauble cards you mean, they were always a photo and those along with the candle cards were always the worst in the box! They usually were so thin they didn't stand up either, haha.
Thanks for sharing with us.
