LIM 5th Birthday - white on white

The Less is More challenge is 5 years old! Where does the time go - I've been playing along for all that time, although in recent years not every week.I've been a winner and showcased a few times which I take as a very high accolade indeed. Congratulations ladies and here's to the next 5 years.

The LIM challenge is white on white and the die I have used is one that Anne from LIM used a while ago, and as soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it as it is very close to my favourite designer rose by Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

It's been sitting on my desk and not quite made it to a card, so this was the week for it. I've used Tattered lace pierced squares for the bases and embossed in silver the sentiment.

As I have a box of white snippets and all these pieces came from it I am off to show everyone in the snippets playground. But before I do......

A few weeks ago I was very lucky to be able to go to a workshop sponsored by Boots No7. Boots is a Nottingham firm although now has US owners and there was also an exhibition all about the brand which was fascinating. At the workshop we got all the materials to make a little purse and try out some techniques. I chose to use some vintage Boots branding and a transfer method onto aida cloth.

For the other side of my bag I used some Nottingham lace and other embellishments that were provided. As a bit of a social historian I loved playing with the images and also to have this wonderful keepsake.
Afternoon tea was provided and at the end of the workshop we all got a very generous Boots No7 goody bag which I was not expecting. A fab workshop all together.
Here's a photo of how the tables were set up with all the materials on cake stands.
and here I am really concentrating......

This WOW card is gorgeous. I also love the focus on the single flower combined with the decadent corner die.

I really enjoyed the Boots photos. I think the idea of presenting the supplies on the cake tiers was a wonderful idea. I used to join in The Counterfeit Kit Challenge. It was a month long challenge where you made up a kit from your onhand supplies and then tried to scrapbook from that kit for the month.
People named their kits and presented them in fabulous staged photo ops. The cake tier idea would be fabulous there.

A Beautiful card beautiful designand the bag is stunning.

I started my working life in Boots, when it was all still British and Head Office in Nottingham, I loved it and was a "real" Boots girl.
