LIM #293 - One Layer Card - Favourite Flower

Everyone knows I think by now that I love poppies, however they aren't my favourite flower! My favourite is actually the Sweet William but you don't see me make any cards with it because until Sheena Douglass did this stamp and die set I never saw one.

So the perfect opportunity to break out this stamp set and die. All ready to link when I realise I made the fatal school girl error of not reading properly the Less is More challenge blog post! It is one layer week. So my card below features not only the stamp but the die that comes with it making it ineligible for this weeks challenge. Back I went and got the stamp set out - probably one of the few times I actually managed to tidy away after myself and had to get it all out again.

I think I prefer the one below. For the one layer I only inked the edges of the flower head so that I could stamp the flowers over the top but it lacks the definition of the one below. I coloured both images with TH distress crayons and to get the white tips of the flowers a TH distress pen in picket fence.

I think they both look fab, Linby, and how great that Sheena does your fave flower as a stamp and die! I made the same mistake as you and did a layered card at first which I much preferred to my eventual one layer creation. Oh well! Love the colouring on yours and the tall card format which is really elegant. Thanks for sharing with us at Less is More :)

Sweet Williams always remind me of one of my Grannies had them growing in her garden, they are a true cottage garden flower.

And love your CAS card using the stamps Lynn.

Two lovely cards Linby and isn't it just sod's law that you'd put it all away. These flowers remind me of my Nan too. Certainly a beautiful stamp. Barbxx

Your cards are just beautiful. Lovely design and your composition is just perfect. Thanks for sharing at Less is More!
Both cards are just wonderful, and as they are Sweet Williams, how could they not be. They bring back childhood to me as they were all over the garden. Love the cards and the flowers. Fabulous colouring from you.

Super stunning and elegant Linby and love both cards. Personally I'm not a lover of one layer cards to send to folks to tend to crop mine to bits once they're photographed! Thanks for playing along at Less is More this week. Sarah
