LIM #299 recipe - acetate or vellum

 I saw a technique for embossing acetate and colouring it with aqua tints. I have just got this CC tree embossing folder and thought it would look good using the technique with white and silver paints. That was a few days ago and it has sat on my desk unused because it didn't seem to fit with what I wanted to do.

When I saw the Less is More challenge this week was acetate or vellum I decided to give it another go. I had a brainwave of using CE cosmic shimmer gilding polish on the back of the acetate and I am so pleased with the result. I actually made the green one below first, but then thought about using a mix of other colours and like that one better.

I stamped the deer from a Sheena Douglass set and cut around the top of them. I then cut a frame from white gloss card and added a sentiment which was in a free magazine set last year.
I love this embossing folder it brings back memories of the woods in Canada last year when I took this photo.

What lovely results the polished give Lynne, especially love the blues and purples. And my sheer chance I had a delivery yesterday, saw John demoing them and had to have some to try, went for gold, purple, aqua and a green for starters, not that I am in any fixed in which colours I like working with of course.

What fabulous cards Lynn. The deer look so realistic and I love the background, it's superb. I too have the sentiment stamp and it's been so useful, now I just need to use all the other free stamps that have never been off the sheet that they came on! :) Happy crafting, Sandra X

Oh my goodness, what a super technique! Both cards look stunning, and I would really struggle to choose between them. It's such a rich, textured effect and so very atmospheric. Beautiful! Thanks so much for playing with us at Less is More :)
