Ombre at Less is More

I decided to use my aquatints on some card to make an ombre effect. The first card is one of the pieces just mounted behind a die cut straight into the base card.

For the second card I had a negative from a die cut on my desk and wondered if it would make a suitable mask. Then once I had the shape I wondered what to do with it? I thought this little deck chair and sentiment from Penny Black fitted nicely and I coloured the deckchair in the ombre effect too. I drew in some birds and then for no other reason than it was on my desk added a plastic circle in the sky to balance the composition. I cut it out with a Lawn Fawn rectangle stitched die and then mounted onto the base card.

I'm entering these cards into the colour challenge for Ombre over at Less is More.

Oooh! Absolutely stunning takes on ombre Linby ... the first one is so elegant and classy with that intricate die - which I think I might have in my stash! Great inspiration thanks. Then the laid-back ombre take on the second one is just so cool and fun. Happy New Year and thanks for playing with us at Less is More this week. Sarah x

Two very stylish cards Lynn, the reverse die on the first is most effective and of course I could dream away with the second.

Brilliant ombre designs, Linby. I adore that first card. Such a simple idea to place the ombre blending behind the die cut area. So simple but striking. Thanks so much for sharing with us at Less is More, Anita x
