Traditional Christmas Colours at Penny Black & More

Time for our December challenge at Penny Black & More - this time it is Traditional Christmas Colours. By which we mean  Red, Green, Gold, Silver and White or any combination of those five colours on your work. Much as we love the more contemporary colours entries using those will I'm afraid not be eligible for this theme. For me a poinsettia sprang to mind and this is how it turned out.

I used Penny Black 40-075 Christmas pride which a kind friend sent to me and the sentiment is from
hanging treasures 40-165. I used a spellbinders die set cut from CC gold glitter card and red card for the layering.

The poinsettia itself I stamped twice, once on green card and once onto red card. I then embossed using gold powder on the red and and fairy wings embossing powder on the green. I actually cut the stamp in half for the leaves and placed either side of the main image. If you look at a poinsettia you will see it is actually all leaves, with some turning red which gives the appearance of flowers.

Thanks for looking and I hope to see you over at the Challenge where our sponsors this month are:
