Shopkeeper!

I was having a look through my cdroms for the CD Sunday challenge when I came across MCS Setting the Scene Shop Fronts cdrom. I haven't used this for a very long time and as the theme this week is Anything goes I decided to see what I could come up with.

I have a friend who adores vintage hats and shoes and so this shop seemed ideal for her. I superimposed a piece of the background over the shop name and renamed it for her! adding my greeting to the shop sign. I also superimposed the glass and added the number above the door and changed the layout of the windows, finally adding an extra topiary tree.

I used a piece of ribbon from CuddlyBuddly which I thought tied together the card with the colours. This is the first time I have let a piece of it go lol!

Inside of the card - I will add the greeting later.

My friend also loves vintage clothes and so this TL die seemed to fit nicely as she looks like she is heading for the shop. I made her and the ivy ( Joanna Sheen die) from snippets so it also seems fitting to use it for the blog hop Darnell has arranged for Di headmistress of the Snippets Playground.

Di's friend Darnell from across the pond has initiated a surprise Blog Hop to thank Di for the SEVEN years she has managed the Snippets Playground where we go to show off our snippets makes, enjoy bonfires, have hot toddies, jump rope, play on the Playground equipment, trade beads, horse-around in the tree house, ride bikes, play with Parsnip (and now Dudley the Havanese), and generally have an amazing and fun time!

I want to thank Darnell for organising this blog hop and also Di for running the challenge which is no mean feat with all the organising she has to do. But also for being a super friend who is always at the end of an email to help me out or give advice. I think I won the ivy die from the playground too - thanks for all the fab prizes Di.

WOW - that's a brilliant card. Love the inside as much as the outside - and just perfect for your friend.

There's a slightly raucous celebration going on behind the bike sheds .. . come along if you dare!

A gorgeous card, I love the way you have personalised it. And there's a link to my family history here too as a few years ago we went to the Scillies and traced some of my husband's family history, and it turned out that at the start of the 20th century his grandmother had a milliner's shop there - in the shop that is now the Co-op!

Stunning card Lynn - it tells a story - which I love to see in a card!

It was such a surprise to find out about Darnell's blog hop - many thanks for your kind words. Needless to say I'm really deeply touched by so many wonderful friends joining in - what a wonderful gesture. Thank you so much!

And in return, thank YOU so much for your friendship and also generosity helping with prized. I note that Darnell said it's all out of my own pocket so on Sunday's post I also want to raise a glass to those of you who have so kindly sent prizes.

Hugs . and a woof from Dudley!! We have 6" plus here of snow and Len keeps clearing the penned in patio for Dudley's toilet purposes in case we lose the little chap in a snowdrift! And it's STILL falling thick and fast. Gulp.
