Spots and Stripes Christmas tree

We have missed two weeks of Allsorts challenges due to national mourning, but we are back now as usual. Our theme this week has two choices, either Anything goes or Spots and/or stripes which Ellie has chosen.

I went with the Spots and stripes and these Lisa Horton papers. I had a couple of snippets which I used for the card. I was so proud of getting two triangles out of that tiny piece, until I put the card together. I realised that a corner was missing and so out came the gold stars. Originally my tree was going to have just a star at the top - but needs must!

I saw the idea for this layout in an old Papercraft mag, I had just torn the page out and have no record of which one. I used the basic design of the triangles and cutting an aperture for the middle triangle at the bottom then went with my own papers. The whole thing is mounted on foam pads to get the effect of the aperture - doesn't really show in the photo.

As I used snippets I'm popping over to the Snippets Playground to show everyone there now they are open after the mourning period. I'm also entering into the Creative Inspirations challenge where they too have the theme of spots and stripes!

Our prize this week for one winner is Perfectly Potted die set and co-ordinating Reflections and tickets to Crafting Live Peterborough from Highlight Crafts

A great way to build a Christmas tree using your spots and stripes snippets. Judicious use of the decorative stars - no one would guess why 😉

Love how you created the tree and used up some of your paper snippets into the bargain.

Thanks for submitting homework to the Snippets Playground. xxx

What a fabulous idea, Lynn and a perfect way to use your snippets! Good thing there was a corner missing too :) so you could add those extra stars for embellishments. They complete the design so nicely!

Love how you have used your spots and stripes snippets to make your tree, and the missing corner must have been serendipity as the gold stars finish it perfectly.
