Chocolate box

I saw a card online made using a TL chocolate box die which I loved.  But the lady said that the die is old and I couldn't find it anywhere. Then I saw TH has one out now at £25 - so, moving on, I made my own using a Sue Wilson heart die.

I used snippets of mirri card and originally this was going to be a test run, but it worked out ok. I recut the heart using just the bottom of the die to give some depth to the box and stuck it behind the original heart. I used a TL bow from a TL wreath and for the ribbon I cut it by hand and scored it to look like material gathered. I then used a pokey tool to punch the edges and put some detail on the bottom edge of the box.

I backed the two halves with some snippet card from my box. My biggest concern was how to make chocolates? I found some brown and chocolate metallic card for the rose and violet creams (did you guess that's what they are?). Then my proudest moment was using a TH inlay die and using just a corner to make that swirl, just like you see on chocolates.

I used a piece of vellum all over the base and then a polka dot paper for the box to stand out from the background. The sentiments are from a PB set.

As I doubt I will ever feel the need to make a card like this again, happy to have saved myself from buying another die set lol!

I'm off to the Snippets Playground to show everyone as apart from the base papers I used everything from my snippet box. Unfortunately they aren't real chocolates to share.

Wow, you have been very busy with this heart-shaped chocolate box, Lynn!! So much efforts and fatiguing to stretch your die, but the result looks fabulous and you have shown how clever and skilled you are! :) Absolutely love the mirri and that aqua backing, such beautiful look! Lots of details and textures to see, and the chocolates seem so yummy :D Very well done!

They may not be REAL chocolates on this card, but it's FABULOUS anyway! It's amazing what you can come up with when you don't have the "proper" materials. Your imagination has made this a terrific and dare I say DELICIOUS card!

Thanks for coming to play in the Snippets Playground. Come and enjoy a hot cross bun up in the Treehouse! x

Brilliant feat of improvisation and you have indeed illustrated that we don't always need to rush off to buy the exact same dies when we see them used to make a card. These days I'm trying my best to resist hitting any 'buy now' buttons until I've had a really good think about if I actually NEED something 🤣🤣. The chocolates look good enough to eat.
