Happy 90th
It was my MIL's 90th birthday last week. Although I have previously used this die on a card, it was really in readiness for this occasion that I purchased the Sue Wilson die.
I wanted to make it very feminine so I chose a sheet of paper from a magazine and cut out the outline of the die first. Then I cut the cake itself from shimmery purple card stock and the candle flames from gold cardstock.
I wanted the roses to stand out and so I reinserted the waste into them from the floral paper. I used stickles for the leaves and the base of the cake stand. I realised I didn't have a "th" for the 90 (old gummiapan die) but realised I could use those letters cut from a CC birthday die, and it worked out great. I used a TL die for the circle to mirror the edging on the cake die base. The sentiment is from CC.
Can you spot the deliberate mistake? I forgot to put Mum on it! Luckily I realised before we gave her the card but I didn't have time to re photograph it.
I'm entering this card into Ellibelle's Crafty Wednesday challenge where it is always "anything goes".
I did a twofer with the waste printed paper.
