Going dotty

I keep my white/cream snippets in a plastic wallet and it was getting rather full. In the past I have had a mammoth sentiment session but this time I tried something different to use some of them up.

I swiped over the snippets with an ink pad. No blending, just the pad direct onto the snippet. This is what I started with.

I used a new die from Pocket Full of Happiness who are based in Germany. But I just heard yesterday they are now being stocked at Seven Hills Craft which is great news, they have so many fab designs.

I took the die and cut out several times using the ink coloured snippets. Then I set about placing them back into the die! I had originally discarded this die cut in white, as some of the ink from the snippets had transferred to the die and marked my die cut. I did this card as my second one and decided I could blend some ink over the whole thing to hid the transferred ink.

I made this first one below with a more random pattern. I also decided to stamp onto an offcut with blue ink and not sure I like it, although it does look better than in the photo.

I've still got some dots left over, but not enough to fill a circle so for now they have gone into the "dot" pot for future use as card candy.

I'm going over to The Snippets Playground challenge with my card and also linking up at Darnell's I.D.E.A.S. for inky projects to give others inspiration.

You must have a lot of different pots for your snippets. Love the idea of a dot pot. Great card. The colours work really well and inlaid die cutting is one of my favourite techniques xx

This is a snippity snippets card to beat all, Lynn! What patience you have! Because I love jigsaw puzzles, I totally get how fun this was, but I do wonder if you are still seeing spots before your eyes! (I love that you have a Dot Pot!) Thank you for using this week's I.D.E.A.S. Calendar and linking up to motivate others!📌 Hugs, Darnell

Fabulous design, very effective and great use of snippets, I guess you could also just colour the dots that are the waste from the die
