Not a slatted die!

The recent trend for slatted dies made me think if I had something in my stash that would work just as well.

I took this Candy Cane die by Pink Fresh and a snippet of patterned paper to see what the result might be.

I cut a circle from two dies and then placed it over the stripes, cutting off the excess. Then I put it on a card with a Spellbinders foiled sentiment

As I finishing touch I cut a butterfly from a Jamie Rodgers die frame set using another snippet. This holographic paper is all snippets now - at over 20+ years old I am making it last lol!

I'm off to the Snippets Playground with my card.

Beautiful card and great take on the technique using your own stash.

Looks fabulous- I love it when you can achieve a design without buying the 'proper' die just using what you already have, so well done Lynn. xx

Great thinking outside the box Lynn, now makes me want to diversify from the circle one I have as the patterned strips look very effective.

Your faux slatted die has worked really well. I have recently bought a load of those slatted dies and I have to say that I really like them. I expect they will be appearing on my blog in due course. I am glad you are using up your old supplies too. Your silvery butterfly looks wonderful on your slatted circle xx
