Add a button

Do I ever use buttons on cards? Rarely, despite having jars of them bought especially for putting onto cards. So, when I saw the challenge at Crafty Calendar Challenge this month is to "add a button" I thought I would get right on with it and in the process use some new goodies too.

I first stencilled the background using a Uniko stencil and then using a piece of paper as a mask ink half of the leaves in a darker shade of green. This is a tip I picked up from Ardyth on Youtube. If you don't follow her then you should, she has really ignited my fire for using stencils.

I then added a stamp from the Uniko Mid Century flower stamps set. I used the same set to make my feature flower matting and layering to place onto the stencilled background. I used a Julie Hickey die set for the greeting and I finished with a button in the centre of the flower. One down - many to go lol!

I have some tiny buttons I bought years ago from Hobbycraft when I used to demo there-still have them lol. Love the flower and fabulous stencilled foliage background.

Great stencil work on this card and good that you've made a start on using some of your buttons. I too have loads of buttons and probably miles of ribbon - buttons and bows maybe for a theme???

Lovely bright and happy colours for a Birthday card and as for buttons, yet have a hoard and can't lost the habit of keeping the spares that come with clothes.
