Background creations

5x5

6x4

This time at our new Allsorts challenge Donna has chosen an optional theme of "Create Your Own Background" or anything goes.

I had a look in my backgrounds box and came up with these two prints to use. I have used various acrylic paints on my gelli plate to create them in multiple printing pulls. I then die cut out from the prints.

To maximise the impact of the background I've added flower die cuts to both. One is a Sizzix Dandelion head and the other is from a TH set, using some blue metallic sheen card. Then I added a sentiment from a Uniko sentiment set.

We have a prize of a set of four background stamps from AALL and Create

WOW - both cards are fantastic - blue is my fave colour. LOVE the contrast between the black and white die cuts against your fab backgrounds. xxx

The layered gelli prints make such a striking base for both designs, and the way you paired each background with a contrasting die cut really lets the textures shine. The metallic blue against the softer tones is especially eye catching, and the bold black silhouette on the second card gives it such crisp definition. A beautiful showcase of how handmade backgrounds can elevate even the simplest elements.
