Newsprint

I used a stamp by Jamie Rodgers called Newsprint for this card. Some of the sections I wanted to ink to highlight and frame with the Lawn Fawn dies weren't in the right place. So I cut them out and doubled them up as I wasn't using the whole stamped image.

I wasn't sure how to then add some background interest. I was going through a paper pad and found this off cut from a die. I cut across the corner of it and then used it behind the stamped image. the birthday sentiment stamp and die from Julie Hickey Then fitted nicely into the gap.

As I used a snippet I am off to The Snippets Playground with this card. My main snippet is above but the frames were also cut from snippets too.

I'm also entering this card into the
As You Like It Challenge for favourite occasion (and why). I love creating birthday cards, especially if I can personalise it to the recipient in some way.

It's a clever design Lynn, framing and colouring those sections definitely puts them in the spotlight, the background snippets add to the design and draw the eye to the sentiment so an inspired addition.

Love the large newsprint stamp and how you highlighted three of the images with ink and the die-cut frames.

Such a striking way to use that newsprint stamp. The way you isolated and framed the sections gives each one its own moment, and the angled snippet behind the panel adds just the right amount of texture without overwhelming the design. The sentiment nestles into the layout so naturally, and the mix of snippets keeps everything cohesive and intentional.
