Out of the woods

It's taken me a couple of days to make this card, as I've been struck with a bug that keeps transforming itself into various ailments, today it's a bad cold.

Anyway when I saw the theme at Christmas Kickstart Challenge - Out of the woods, this Apple Blossom die of the stag and trees came to mind. I used a Stamperia 12x12 pad for the background and used a gold pen around the half moon. Then another sheet for the die cutting. However, the stag blended in too much so I cut another stag and placed him over to the left more. The other stag will be making a debut in a day or so! I lightly inked with Scorched Timber DI around the stag to make him stand out. The greeting is an old die and cut from a strip of the same paper.

What a fun, funky, and colorful scene that pp is, Lynn! I love it and enjoyed long minutes checking out all the bits. The shadowed stag fits the scene perfectly, as does the sediment. I hope that nasty transformer bug dies soon and you can get back to yourself again. Hugs, Darnell

The layered papers create such a striking woodland atmosphere, and the way you shifted the stag brings a wonderful sense of balance to the scene. The soft inking around him adds just the right amount of definition, letting the patterned background stay vibrant without overwhelming the focal point. The gold detailing around the moon is a beautiful touch, too, giving the whole design a gentle glow.

This is a whole woodland story in one card, that layered forest and moonlit sky are absolutely stag gering. The textures and colours are just delicious. Such a creative beauty. Thank you for joining the Christmas Kickstart challenge.
