Shaped card and deer in the woods

A longer post from me today as it is the start of a new challenge at Allsorts and also Rudolph Day where I am a GDT this month.

First is my DT make for Allsorts where Christine has chosen a theme of Anything but Square or Anything goes.

I've used an old Hunkydory blank shaped card. I don't use them very often, so it's taking some time to get through them. This was the perfect time to get one out. I've used something else I have copious amounts of, Hunkydory poppy images, which were in a very large pack. The sentiment is a washable from Clevercuts but I left it untreated. I decided these Spellbinders label dies suited the shape of the card for matting.

Two prizes from AALL and Create

Rudolph Days challenge this month and my GDT card is inspired by one I received for Christmas. I was not going to buy this Penny Black stamp 40-948. I still had the card up until recently and it just nagged at me to buy the stamp, so I gave in. Probably because it reminds me of one of my fav pictures. I took this at the local deer park at Wollaton Hall a few years ago.

I've got a few ideas of how to use this stamp and this is the first one.

I stamped the trees with brown inks and created a sunrise using Fossilised amber and crackling campfire oxides, for the sky I used specked egg and faded jeans. I'm fed up with different white pens not working so I bought some Winsor and Newton white ink and used that for the snowflakes.

The frame is a CE die cut from flame red mirror card and the sentiment die is an old one not sure who it is by.

I'm entering this card into Sweet Stampin' challenge - Christmas in April.
