January Rudolph Day

This card came about when the fabulous Darnell sent me these snowflakes in with my Christmas card and the black card was enclosed to protect my birthday card. Well I wouldn't normally go for black for Christmas but I thought the snowflakes looked wonderful against it and I didn't want to waste a perfectly good piece of card.

I used a punch to round off the corners of the card, added a little die cut hat I made from snippets and a sentiment from the same set. I'm so pleased with how this turned out.

I'm off to enter it into Rudolph Day at Mo's blog. I'm also entering into a new challenge to me
Christmas Craft Creations where the theme this month is snippets. My little hat was cut from snippets when I made some for this card here

Great recycling Lynn and the black works well with the colours you used for the die cuts.

Thanks for sending the link, Lynn! I'm delighted that you upcycled the bits I sent and made a super fine Christmas card with them! I'm getting better at thinking of black as a neutral "color" for my panels and it has really opened up possibilities for designs. It really makes those snowflakes and that sweet knit stocking cap POP!

Not to mention you are an inspiration for immediately using the snippets and not just popping them in a drawer for next year ... or the year after that ... or the year after that! Hugs, Darnell
