Using yellow

It's my turn to host the Allsorts challenge this week. I've chosen an optional theme of "Use Yellow" which you might guess from my two makes. It's been a personal challenge of mine in the past because I was never fond of using yellow, but that seems to have changed recently.

My first make is for a frame which I did last year. I re-designed this piece here as I wasn't happy with how it looked from a distance. I thought it was only last year but turns out it was in 2021! I swopped the AALL&Create sewing stamp for the other one from the set and added a couple of pieces of ephemera. I used a few different stamps but kept the AALL & Create sewing machine and girl.

In case a remake was a bit of a kop out - I did a second card using a Lil Inker die, with my fav technique of inlaying the waste into the die.

Our prizes are from Craftstash and AALL and Create

I love the eclectic combination of stamps you've used in your frame- they shouldn't work together but they really do! The card is bold, bright and colourful and has real impact.

Both are so beautifully done and so different! I especially love the framed piece with all those fun sewing images, so perfect for a craft room. The second makes a great masculine birthday card, what a great die!

Time flies doesn't it, I did something similar this week. Both marvellous cards Lynn and I love the yellow. x
Your frame is fantastic with it's new look, love how you combined vintage with quirky, who have never said that they work so well together? So clever and well built!
The modern card has a beautiful palette and well done to keep all the pieces to inlay them!
Hugs, have a lovely weekend!

Your framed piece takes me back to the days when I used to sew all my children's clothes and made many for myself too. I love all the elements put together in one piece. I really do miss Lil Inker and wish I had more of their great dies like this birthday one. I really like how you added the 2 colors to the yellow to make it so fun and festive.
